When I moved house recently, I decided not to continue my newspaper. My opinion of its editorial wisdom had sunk sufficiently low, that it wasn't worth the money I was paying.

However, I want to stay informed, so I'm trying to find a way to keep me plugged into world events.

How do you get your news?
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

Internet lets you read almost any newspaper printed. Yahoo news and searching by topic will get you news you are looking for. sometimes I use the radio but due to not wanting a TV, the internet is my primary source, word of mouth often hinting at what I may be interested in finding more about.

Various news websites, both local and national.

A combination of Jon Steward / Stephan Colbert for world-news, HuffPo for LGBT news, Slashdot for tech news, and I Can Has Cheezburger for cat pictures :)
Sometimes I blog things

Of course I'm sane.  When trees start talking to me, I don't talk back.

I tend to stay away from LGBT news sites. The only time I came across anything like that is when I come here. Outside of this site, I don't have any contact with anything that is trans-related. I actually considered leaving this site too a few months ago but I decided to stick around since there are a few peeps that I would miss chatting and goofing off with.

Yeah, I got a bit off track there.

I take a look over the local county paper. All it covers is county stuff though. For anything major, I hear about here, from someone at the store or on facebook, lol.  I can't sit and watch news, they mix too much opinion in, so facts become somewhat garbled in there somewhere.

I get most of my news from NPR along with the BBC they play at night. I listen on the radio, read on my computer, and have the app.

I also read Al-Jazeera English on my smartphone, because they have a lot of international stories.

I sometimes read the Wall Street Journal on the app/website, but you need to subscribe to have full access.

I don't really read news from anywhere, nor do I watch them either. My fiancée does that sometimes and I trust her to tell me all the interesting ones. :D She usually reads the online version of Iltalehti, a crappy Finnish newspaper.
