When was the last time you experienced joy? Will you please tell me about it?

The last time I experienced joy was when I went out and purchased my first piece of womens clothing. It was a shirt lavender in color purchased in a sears store early one morning. No one so much as batted an eyelid. It felt so good to actually be in a womens section and looking at womens clothes and actually buy something. I want to go and get more now. ;)

Joy as in?  ;)  I experience joy everytime I play with my kitties, everytime I go shopping, everytime I finish a work assignment that I never thought I would finish, everytime I listen to a song that I like....

Is that the kind of joy you're referring to or the other type?  ;)

Not three hours ago while at dinner with my parents and their friends.  All of the waitresses called me sweetie or miss and it just reminded me that this is all real and happening finally  :)

That's the joy I was talking about, I'm not sure what the other type of joy is that you are refering to. I'm glad there are so many things that bring you joy. What are your kitties names?

Hi Buffy, I can see that you love you're sons very much, thanks for sharing.

Hi Alice, I hope you have fun at the ball. Is it for the firemen or some other special reason.

Hi Wishy, It's good to hear you're having so much fun, it's nice to see you have a hobbie that you enjoy so much.

Hi Katia, I looked up desdemona on the net but there were so many different sites I couldn't for the life of me even begin to figure out who or what you named you're ginnea pig after. I hope you two have many wonderful years ahead of you.

Hi Jaston, Special teatment's nice, I'll bet the food was tasty too.

I would like to thank all of you who shared your times of joy with me and I wish that you all have many more joyous times ahead.

Love,
Jonie

Three years, 2 months, and 15 days ago.

I graduated college and was hired by the same university that I graduated from based on the recommendations of three of my professors. It made me feel like I was worth something.

Well, that would be last night.  Actually every night I've had rehearsals for the musical I'm in, I feel joy.  It's very fulfilling and makes a wonderful social outlet to just have fun with the other women in the cast.  Many times we'll just go off and chat about whatever.  It just feels so wonderful to just simply be one of the woman.

I also get joy from my girlfriend and projects I work on around my house.  All in all, I love my life.

I don't know.  For a moment I thought you were referring to sexual enjoyment.  My kitties' names are:  Angel, Munchkin, Bebe, and Daisy.   ;D

Hi Melissa, I know where you're comming from, back in highschool I played trumpet in the pit band for "Damn Yankees". I had such a good time and when the play was over the band was invited to the cast party. It was one of the best times I ever had, everyone was in such a good mood as one part of the cast spent time entertaining the other with skits and jokes.

This morning. I woke up, made the bed, and exercised. It is a dawn of a new day and I am still here to see, smell, taste, touch, and hear the world around me. When I drive to work I play music that I like and sing along the entire way with a smile on my face.

Yeah, I had been in one other musical before (before transition) and due to being in the wrong gender role, it really diminished the experience.  In this musical, I have friends who enthusiastically greet me when they see me and some actually hang out with me more than the other women.  I'm actually divulging in many of my interests I had before transition, but as a woman and I am finding them more fulfilling than I did previously.  All I can say about it is that I enjoy my life now so much more as a female. :)  I'm glad you had a good time.  I'll have to wait to see how the cast party is, but I'm enjoying every moment of the musical so far.

Hi LostinTime,
Simple pleasures are the best, I think there's a lesson to be learned here.

Hi LostinTime,
Simple pleasures and the best, I think there's a lesson to be learned here.

Do not live in the world,
In distraction and false dreams.
Outside the dharma.
Arise and watch.
Follow the way joyfully
Through this world and beyond.
Follow the way of virtue.
Follow the way joyfully
Through this world and on beyond!
For consider the world -
A bubble, a mirage.
See the world as it is,
And death shall overlook you.
Come, consider the world,
A painted chariot for kings,
A trap for fools.
But he who sees goes free.
As the moon slips from behind a cloud
And shines,
So the master comes out from behind his ignorance
And shines.
The world is in darkness.
How few have eyes to see!
How few the birds
Who escape the net and fly to heaven!
Swans rise and fly toward the sun.
What magic!
So do the pure conquer the armies of illusion
And rise and fly.
If you scoff at heaven
And violate the dharma,
If your words are lies,
Where will your mischief end?
The fool laughs at generosity.
The miser cannot enter heaven.
But the master finds joy in giving
And happiness is his reward.
And more -
For greater than all the joys
Of heaven and earth,
Greater still and than dominion
Over all the worlds,
Is the joy of reaching the stream.
