Lorifish

So I've never actually written a poem on this subject before but this floated into my head and I had to get it down. It's a little thing, but here you go.

::Androgynous::

If I turned out a boy
Would you look at me different
Would you take my dolls away
And then ask me what they meant

If I turned out a girl
Would I have to wear a dress
Give birth to my children
And deal better with the stress

And what if I turned out
A birl or a goy
What would you expect then
What assumptions would I destroy

Boys in pink corsets
Girls trade breasts for chests of steel
And the boys hold hands in friendship
Girls take charge behind the wheel

Social construction dictates
Which is sensitive or strong
But with all this blind instruction
Who's to say if they were wrong?
I understood that reference.
