How do you know this?

One of my trans friends works as an adult actress in the porn industry and she told me.

QuoteWhat do you mean by lower dosages? Like less than the average transgirl is prescribed or what?

Yeah according to her they either take lower doses of both estrogen & spirolactone or they take normal estrogen doses but with a lower dose of spirolactone. I heard some even take Viagra to maintain stability while performing.  :D

I've only been on HRT for 2 weeks, but there been a pretty dramatic change for me. I use to get them all the time when sleeping. It was a vicious curse for me. I feel a lot better their gone.

I've been on HRT for almost two months now and I've noticed I never get random erections anymore, nor do I wake up with them (Yaaay!), but if I WANT one everything seems to work just fine still. I have noticed a much lessened libido, but not completely gone. If I'm turned on, I can easily just distract myself where as previously, I pretty much had to...do something about it. I'm quite happy with these changes so far ^^.

So I've been on HRT for about 8 months now. I can still achieve an erection. The weird thing for me is that the length when hard has shortened. This not due to lack of skin but it "feels" like I'm stretched to the max. I still have loose skin when previously this was not the case. I'm not overly concerned but I wonder if I damaged something due to tucking. Does anybody else have a similar issue?

I actually have no loss of libido. Erections need more mental stimulation and love making sounds really stimulate me... and the orgasims are way OTT. My endo and therapist continue to be somewhat suprised as I'm on a full dosage. Maybe alot has to do with pre HRT and your libido then? I had a really active sex life before and I was worried about the loss. Guess its different for each of us.
When we first start our journey the perception and moral values all dramatically change in wonderment. As we evolve further it all becomes normal again but the journey has changed us forever.

I think most are on Viagra. I know that some escorts will often tell clients they need a little prep time to allow medications to work if they are tops.

WOW! Talk about necro'ing a thread! This one is almost two years old. I bet 50 pecent of the girls even stopped hormones since it seems to be a theme I hear a lot. So and so stopped and went back. Blah Blah blah. But the only time I get erections is when i want them the least: when Im being intimate with my man. But they happen a lot less and are really small and flaccid. I can no longer ejaculate either and my testes have shrunk into some type of jelly. I have noticed my feminization seems to have sped up since this happened around a couple weeks ago. My spiro was upped to normal finally on Nov. 26. Now I'm probably chemically castrated. I almost cant believe how femme i look sometimes and i believe it is related to the nuking of my T. I will no fo sho a week after my next appt. on Jan. 20.

And yeah, I would totally want a uterus, or the holy grail of trnassexuals: a fully functional female reproductive system. When I told my ex-fiancee this she deumped a month later. She thought I was just about SRS but I guess having a baby was too far lol

Raising from the dead is kinda appropriate for the topic though right?

Go Jo!  That must be pretty awesome.

Hell I would skip the womb.   A vagina of course... but i dream of being able to develop a female skeletal structure.  Sigh.
Body... meet brain.  Now follow her lead and there will be no more trouble, you dig?

Well, some topics are kind of timeless I guess. Mine still works when I need it but libido is nonexistent. I try to use it once a week. I've noticed that it's gotten a little more painful. I don't have much goo either. Is this TMI?
  •

Emmaline

Nope... every bit helps.

Er... information.   Not goo.

It could be good for girls to mention how long on hrt the changes described occurred.

Orgasms have always been a little painful for me- a varicocele potentially causing this.  I am hoping for changes there on hrt or after orchi.

I  had my family jewels removed but I have no problem in getting aroused or hard for that matter. But I don't get morning surprises and when I do have a orgasim intend to be dry unless. Dry turned on then it's clear. I'm also on a low dose of estrogen and my t levels is lower then a cis female, everyone's body is different lol.

Wow. Does anyone even bother to read about the things they put into their bodies or do they just take whatever some doctor gives them? Unless most of these comments are just meant to be silly.

I hope silly. The alternative makes me sad.

One thing for sure, I never put anything in my body without knowing everything that exists about it. Good or bad its the one god gave me and its all I really own.

Amber...

Not all of us have the same sexuality.. And I honestly think this does become a question of sexuality rather than gender.

Im blinking which is a twitch I get when I totally dont understand a comment. What is the connection between sexuality and hormones? Or were you referring to some other thing in your body  ???

Of course they do. Most of us have done extensive research on the results long before starting any treatments. I read over everything with my endo and again with my SO and made sure that she understood everything that was about to happen. But people react very differently and some of us still prefer to use our junk. I spoke with my endo about viagra and things like that if I ended up totally limp. People just have different results/needs/desires and are curious to talk about these things.

Tiffany very well summarized my thoughts.. Which thank you.

But I'll just go ahead and say it~ Most of us are fully aware of the long term implications as to functionality of erections when progressing through HRT. I have noticed a group of people here who will comment *not in these words* "You want an erection? What is wrong with you?" Which is cool. Like I said. Everyone is different. Some of us, however do want the opportunity to have sex in that manner. And what I am trying to say is that: There's nothing wrong with that either. As it does come down to a matter; really of sexuality and how you would prefer to do it.. Rather than "HOW CAN A GIRL WANT THAT?"

What about my comment made you think I care what someone else does with their genitals? I didnt say so. In fact, I dont. If somebody wants to take hormones and use their penis for sex its all good with me, I dont care one way or the other. Honestly, I have no feelings about it one way or the other. Such a personal thing, I actually feel uncomfortable talking about it.

Where I live, I am proud to say we are able now to obtain a new birth certificate, in our chosen gender without any surgery at all. I am also proud to have played a (very) small part in that.

My comments were more directed at the beginning of this thread which I later realise were really old.

I thought the world had moved past conversations about this sex thing. I work with young trans women, volunteer at a shelter, of course they talk about it, some do, some dont, some like it and some sadly do it for money. But are there actually fossils who still think that matters?

...I've really noticed that those who report serious loss of erectile function whilst on hormones, tend to be those that hated using their birth genitals pre-HRT. Whilst, those who enjoy or don't mind using their genitals pre-HRT tend to retain function (if slightly or moderately impaired). So - mind over matter, ultimately?

Perhaps that's another reason why some trans porn stars retain function, because they enjoy their work or at the least are not offended by their own genitals?

It seems that with men and women, arousal and attraction seem to be the key to getting turned-on, and this "software" in the head powers the *ahem*...hardware in the engine room. The less issue the software has with hardware, the better the hardware works perhaps?

Hannah from Sweden hosts a vlog called "Ask a Transexual" and she seems to provide some interesting and in-depth answers to questions such as this.
She's also an adult movie actress and is bisexual, so she seems (from what she says) to need to carefully manager her hormone regime to these ends.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8z1zH2mphk&list=PLCE9D708733D50B8F

Another such actress -  Bailey Jay - also has commented that she had to experiment alot with hormones when she began HRT in order to retain function, and also to regulate her fluctuating weight gain, without negating the feminising effects. Once again - very careful and specific management tailored to her specific needs.
There are no more barriers to cross... But even after admitting this, there is no catharsis... I gain no deeper knowledge of myself. No new knowledge can be extracted from my telling. This confession has meant nothing.

When you find yourself hopelessly stuck between the floors of gender - you make yourself at home in the lift.

I googled and came to this thread lol

1 week in and I find my erections less frequent but I still do have them. I tried testing my libido by watching my favorite high-quality porn. I got excited, then remembered something, then lose all interest in it. Sexy female bodies are sort of "meh" to me now but I still think that they look great. I just feel like I need something more than just visual stimulation to make me orgasm lol. It's all good and I welcome the feminizing changes!
