I'm not sure if this board is the correct place for this unpleasant subject but I have an awful problem with nasty great big wiry black (and white!) nasal hairs and spend alot of time every day dealing with them, but with limited success. I have two gadgets, a Remington Nose & Ear Clipper which reciprocates and a Lifemax which has a rotary action, I use both but they seem to leave me with ugly nasal stubble - ugh! I tried plucking once and once only because it was sooooooo painful.
I have planned electrolysis for my face soon, but I imagine that nasal hairs cannot be treated this way - in any case the pain doesn't bear thinking about.
Will nasal hair diminish if I am able to eventually get HRT, or am I likely to be stuck with it always?
I'd be very grateful for any advice, please.

You are not alone in your quest to rid yourself of those dreaded nasal hairs as many MtF suffer as you do.  As with any male hair it is generally coarser and thicker than female hair and once HRT is started it will to some extent grow in finer and thinner.  However everyone reacts differently to HRT.

Plucking is generally not recommended as there is a risk of infection, but many do despite this rick, myself included.  It is painful but one way of treating the problem.  I haven't seen anyone post on their experience with electrolysis on nasal hair, so hopefully they will read this and relate their experiences.

Yep.. I had electrolysis on nasal hair, worked fine but was painful.

Many electrologist don't want to do the nasal hair because of infection risks, ingrown hair and the like.

I just plucked and plucked and plucked for 20 years, now there's a LOT less than initially (5-10% maybe) and with HRT they grow much much slower. I wonder if when I did the Rhino Brassard removed some of the hair folicles when he reduced the nose size since I've got substantially less since then. I'll ask him next time I see him.

Is the electrologist really able to work on the hair deep in the nose, in my case initially, I had many that grew in the nose point cone that I don't think would be possible to access with electrolysis. They were at least 1/2 inch from the nose entrance.

Ewwww (sorry I dont mean to sound uncaring).  Yeah, I also had electro there.  It wasn't as painful as the upper lip but I had to depend on an extra dose of pain killers anyway.

Steph, Buffy, Keira, Tink - I'm nominating you all for gold medals for pain endurance. Tonight I will have maybe two measures of whisky and attempt to pluck some of them. You girls in North America will probably be able to hear me screaming all the way from England!  I will also talk to the electrologist about it.

Keira you are right, some of those hairs grow from way up in the nose and are unbelievably long. Somebody said that I shouldn't remove them because they are there for a purpose - my reply was "how come only men have them, then?"

Personally, I can't think of many things which are more unfeminine than nasal hairs and I think they look revolting even on men. SO THEY'VE GOT TO GO!!!!

Amen to that.

There are only four locations I want to see hair on a woman's body, and none of it should be between her cheekbones and her naval.

There's a good chance that they'll diminish some with the lack of testosterone.

Louise.....grab each with tweezers, pull slowly until they yield their hold.  After several times, they shouldn't come back. (mine didn't).  I did the same with my moustache hairs (ouch!), but after a few months, most of them didn't come back.  Now, once a week, I find about 2 dozen 'weak sisters' still trying to grow, but they slip painlessly out.  The rest of my "beard" has become much finer, and is all white.  I shave in the morning, and have woman-soft skin for about 18 or more hours.  It takes three days for any 'stubble' to be at all visible, if you examine closely. So, I can afford t wait for laser to catch up on technology to do white hair 

Quotegee, i can only think of two... unless you count the eyebrows/lashes separately 

1.) The hair on top of her head, sometimes optional.

2.) Pair of eyebrows.

3.) Pair of eyelashes.

4.) Window Dressing. 

Well.....I tried a little plucking last night and actually it wasn't as painful as my first attempt a while back. However I don't think I'd want to pull more than 3 or 4 at a time, it is a bit eye watering.

Perhaps I should regard it as some sort of penance for past misdemeanours!
