The Hubble telescope did need repair when it was first launched, and may have needed it since, but I'm pretty sure she's making a joke that because it's American made, it can't convert between different measurement units.

That's pretty good.  :D

Nah the first grindings of the reflective mirror were done in Europe on metric measurements as standard engineering practice world wide. The company in the USA that did the final grinding forgot the measurements where metric and ground in empirical measurement, no one realised the stuff up and when in space it couldn't be focused and a corrective reflector had to be retro fitted in a space walk.

Nevertheless, this is a beautiful image from the Hubble Space Telescope, which both awes and elates me

Oh I'm not being disparaging, the retro fit and the engineering that went into that was awesome.

Just the problems that happen when we don't have universal measurement systems.

Sorry babe, but we all know that her attention will naturally be turned towards the ridiculously cute owl. ^.^

Ah well, I tried.  :'( lol

Thinking about it, and we all know how dangerous that can be...

Technically, we all live in space  :)  We just happen to live on the largest vehicle in our solar system

So as we all muck about and argue as to who's underwear is cutest and fits the best we are all still spinning at a very high rate of speed and orbiting a large ball of fire

The beauty of it is, no matter how distant we are from each other geographically, in actuality we are all together

Here on Planet Earth

I'm thinking about all sorts of things. It's 4 am and I'm lying here listening to music and thinking about just life. 8)

Westboro Church. It might be fun to run into them someday. I can take a girl friend and a guy friend to one of their little picketing things and take turns making out with both in different voices to confuse the hell out of them. >:-)

LOL, that would make a great vid. I'd love to see their reactions

I'm thinking about a lot of things, but having trouble putting them in words because I'm tired.
Some traits that I have/want are considered "feminine," but they are traits of men I relate to/want to emulate. There's a point in there, but words.

I'm really not used to the way some of my new friends treat me... They're always so happy to see me, they hug and kiss me, they come and comfort me when I'm upset (lots of cuddles)... It's nice but it's very strange and I'm scared it's not going to last...

Ugh-my main yahoo account won't let me log in and now that account is blocked for 12 hours.  However the other account works just fine but I rarely use it.  What the heck?  I hope this isn't just a problem with me and I reallllly hope this gets fixed.  As if I didn't have enough stress already.  Now I can't check my mail.  This is going to become very problematic for me if this isn't corrected soon.
