Why you should always carry a spare...

If you work or are around small children, I have a word of advice for all the fellas: keep a spare binder handy.

I work at an international language school. Most of my students are between the ages of 2 and 5. They are absolute darlings and I love my job. While I'm no stranger to dealing with little ones, I never thought the day would come when I needed to carry more than an extra shirt. I've had juice, tea, milk and water spilled on me, I've had food bits get stuck to my clothes when I help the small ones eat, I've even gotten some urine on me during potty training. Yesterday, however, I was puked on for the first time in about 10 years.

I had a terrible problem. Either I could take the binder off and just put on my spare shirt that I keep at the office, or put on the clean shirt over the binder. It had soaked through, so the stomach area of my binder was ... Pleasant. Since my chest refuses to be anything but perky after two years of binding, I had no choice but to put the shirt on and leave the binder. I'm not out at work and I certainly didnt want to have to explain things to the mothers when they saw me.

I'm not mad about it at all, don't get me wrong. She is two and there was no helping it. Better out than in. If anything i was laughing the whole day because really? It never crossed my mind to keep a spare in my bag. Fortunately the little girl is doing better today, though her mom kept her home just in case.

But seriously guys, have an extra if you may need one. They are a pain at the best of times.

sound advice. anything can happen any time.

it's a bit like when i forget that i might suddenly want to take a bath when i'm already out in the nature. no towel, no bathing suit. not even spare underwear. one time i thought i was alone and bathed naked. other times i've walked home without underwear.

there's also this about umbrellas. i've never brought one even when i thought i might need it later. always regretted.

That's good advice. Not something I would have thought of, honestly...sorry you had to make that choice between not binding and wearing a puke binder though.  :o
