Please help!

I can't cope anymore. I've had HRT for over 18 months and only one T injection.

My little changes I was having are now going back to my man looks.

No UK DR will help me (not even my GP).

All the treatments other counties use (like in the USA), NHS DR's say don't work and my GP says, when men take them they  cause them to feminize, so we don't like giving them.

I need to see a top DR ASAP before I just give up.

Does anyone know of any good DR's in the USA that would see me in the same month and how much would it cost for an appointment and as I'd be paying, how soon would I get treatment, once he'd seen I'd been diagnosed?

Why will the doctors not help you? Didn't they approve HRT to start with?

Any well know Endocrinologist would likely have a waiting period before seeing a new patient.  Unfortunately, that waiting period would extend over a one month period if you are looking for a top doctor. 

May I ask, don't they understand the purpose of hrt is to feminize?  If so, why would they want to avoid giving that to trans patients?  I don't doubt you though because I hear the NHS can be a bitch. 

Your best bet in the states is to go to a major informed consent facility such as Callen-Lorde in NY.  Most private doctors either will make you wait longer then you'd care for or they may not treat you if they aren't used to trans patients or if you don't have insurance (keep in mind that self pay can be insanely expensive but it differs widely from practice to practice so it's hard to estimate).  Here's a list of trans friendly doctors http://www.lauras-playground.com/transgender_endocrinologist_list.htm  I'm sorry I can't be more helpful, but maybe someone on that list could see you.  Good luck with everything.

I'm confused. You've been on hrt for 18 months, but also had a T injection, but don't want "man looks"?
What happened to the doctor who prescribes your hrt? and why the t injection?

I am mtf that is why i don't want 'man looks'.

I think you mean you had only one anti-androgen injection, possibly Triptorelin. You give the impression that you had a testosterone injection.

What do you think has caused this? Do you think your hormone levels are not in the female range? Have you had your hormone levels tested recently?

Again, this doesn't sound right. You say that your GP says that when "men" take these treatments, it causes them to feminise. Is this not exactly the treatment and effect you require, ie. to feminise you?

As for "men", no, it's not recommended for men to take female HRT. Why would a man want to transform into a woman? However, a genetic male who is mentally a female, like you for example, may want to undergo female hormone therapy.

Seeing a doctor in the USA will be extremely expensive. Not only that, you will need to live there to get continued treatment, as it will be very unlikely that their diagnosis and treatment can be transferred to a GP here. One possibility is that you see a gender specialist here in the UK privately. There are many here that are recommended. This is how many have successfully transitioned, including me. Anyway, I hope you get the help you need.

Well. The dr I see is fairly quick to get you in. If I called today and said I needed to see her id prob get an appointment in a couple days. From what I have heard she is also fairly easy to get you started if you have a letter of rrecommendation.if not you would have the see a therapist. Idk how it would work if you were coming from overseas, you may still have to see a therapist. The. Therapist I used when I got my letter wasn't really strict on the SOC either and let me have a letter on the first visit for srs and the recommendation for HRT, of course I had been self medicating and had a legal name and gender change in 2001 so that may play a part.

No, still waiting for appointment (been two years)

Yes it is, but she won't give it me as it will cause me to feminise. That's what she said.

I don't understand how you can be given HRT for 18 months than out of no-where they wont prescribe it, what happened to what changed? usually if someone is on HRT for that long they don't just say, "never mind I'm not giving it to you anymore" who was giving you the HRT and why cant they do it anymore    just to clarify because I don't understand this.

My GP. But I am on HRT. What I am saying is, the changes have now stopped and she won't give me a T-blocker or anything for the reason I have said. My dad also said, just keep changing my GP till I get one that will give me the treatment, but I've seen 6 doctors and I've got nowhere. My dad just wants me to say "f*** this, I'll have to stay as a man". He does not understand and that's why he won't help.

If you are on HRt as Estrogen and Spiro and thinsg have stopped for the moment that seems natural for some people of some ages so either hang in there or ask for a endo check on your hormone levels so you can up the HRT if necessary.

I'm only on HRT.

Bethany is in the UK.  No one should ever have to wait for two years to get an appointment for any medical service.  That is madness.

I think I am beginning to understand. So you are on brt however the changes have tapered/stopped, and you believe adding a t-blocker would allow further changes to happen, but your doctors are not giving you the blocker and instead are trying to give you testosterone instead. Have they explained why they are not giving what you are asking for? Maybe your t is already very low and they believe adding a blocker wouldn't offer any gain, or minimal gain, and believe adding the blocker could effect your actual health because of your t being low.
I know when I was still pre-op e and p was enough to send my t count into the toilet, so at the time the current Endo I was seeing didn't believe adding a blocker would be beneficial.

I've only had two blood tests at the doctors. The first was to see what my T was before restating HRT with my GP (Ii was under a not so good clinic for 6 months at first). The second test showed my T was still high. I've not had another test so my GP is just saying they don't give T Blocker cos it will feminize, in men.

Get a private doctor. There are plenty and they will do what you pay them for.
