From a Jen to a Jenn, congratulations!

What kinda advice do you want? There's really not much to it, you are going to have a great time. Looks like the weather will be pretty chilly! Take plenty of warmth!

I would also recommend a scarf, just thinking about trying not to cough in cold air makes me want to cough ;)

Weather will be changeable in March at Seoul, and you have better bring coats for winter, but summer-like weather is also possible. Also, March is a season of high intensity of yellow dust from Central Asia and China, and you have better prepare for air pollution. For other travel tips, Jenny and other ladies already posted a lot of information. I would prefer May.

Unfortunately, I'm going a month later and my plane's already booked! I'd love to go earlier, but I don't get time off work :-(

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you though! Be sure to keep us informed of your progress, though!

Best wishes,

Amy

Hiya peps

I'm a bit quiet with forums but have found everything you girls here have been talking about so soo useful! Thanks for sharing so much info everyone, especially Jenny and Sarah I love ure videos ;)

I'm another booking case  ;D Second week in April and since confirming dates with Yeson... having super excited feelings for what I might be living with in half a years time.  And I've even been walking around the area there on google street map view.... because I wish I was there right now.

As some of you too, I've been attending speech therapy, here in the UK (free with the NHS), I can obtain a reasonable high voice in the right situations, but it always 'slips' down and well, i hate my voice and just fail mostly with phone calls which I do a little in my job. Dreading seeing my speech therapist next week now, not really sure how I'm going to bring it up the subject with her. Errrrrr!

You are quite welcome Dani!! So glad it has helped you too!

And one word of advice with your speech therapist: don't bring it up unless you like having unnecessary disagreements ;)

And congrats on booking. Holy cow, can't believe how many people are going to Yeson!! So awesome!!

You're there a week before me - you'll probably have your follow-up appointment around the time I'll have my surgery. And yes, I'm with you on the excitement!

I think Jenny nailed it: don't bring it up. The opinion that surgery always is only a second-best option (or no option at all, even!) is just so ingrained. But the Yeson results are just so damn GOOD – and consistent, to boot! But changing age-old prejudice takes so much time...

Best wishes from chilly Berlin,

Amy

Amy, this statement is so true. Any time I've tried to discuss Yeson elsewhere, I get all the old Anne Lawrence research thrown up at me and that was done in the 1990s and published in 2004, yet even then she recognized that the field of VFS was beginning to change.

I find discussing this here at Susans to be refreshing because people here are both open to the discussion and providing actual examples of the end results.

Hi Amy,

Possibly we might see each other, my last 9 day check up will be on a Wednesday and I'm staying in a place walking distance from the clinic too.

Just want to update you girls on my voice therapist's reaction.  I just spoke to her on the phone (as she rang me needed to postpone today's ap.) I felt like I should be telling her, so I did, especially as she's been really friendly and helpful to me & I would bad lying or keeping it, plus would have to tell at at some point down the line anyway.     So, she was brilliant about it! No negative vibe in the slightest and if it suits me, she says that's what matters.  So I filled her in of the basics and she didn't know anything about them and what exactly they can do and she is hoping I keep with her, even after, as she has never coached anyone having/had any type of voice fem surgery.
Though I suspect your right about the general opinions, but individuals can be different ;)  Still have my voice coach for afterwards :)

9 weeks to go 4 me!! too long, hehe.

Hi Dani

All the very best. Amy and I will be there at exactly the same time quite coincidentaly. I was also using Google street view to walk around the streets imagining I was there, but I guess that time will come soon enough. It's pretty exciting to be having this done especially after hearing the excellent results from Sarah and Jenny and others.

Hi everyone,

I am waiting for a final surgery date from Jessie but right now it looks like I'll be arriving in Seoul on March 17 or 18th. I'm likely going to be alone So hoping to see if anyone else is going to be there.

Jenn, when do you arrive and depart? Where are you staying.
