Hey everyone, so lately I have been wondering whether it's possible I am intersex. Here are some of the reasons I wonder why.

Well, for starters, I have a very small build/frame. I'm tall (5'11-6ft) but have shoulders that are about 15-16 inches wide mebbe? Not sure on that. Then I have a very tiny chest. I wear a 32 band size but it's too big, it's just hard to find 30 band size bras. I weigh 140 lbs. And my waist is 24-26 inches (depends). Then my hips are at least 32 inches possibly more (sorry I don't have 100% precise measurements). Also, pre transition I wore size 7 mens shoes and boys size clothing and now I wear about 9 womens shoes. So, yeah, I have small hands and feet for my height tho I have long fingers. I also have very tiny arms and wrists and long very skinny legs, both of which people comment on they're so small, even for females.

My voice never dropped. It stayed high and feminine. Pre transition it sounded either like a woman or a very very young boy. Getting it to a high, female range took little to no work. Also, this is a bit awkward but I'm very very small..down there. I would say on HRT 3 inches or so. Then not much more than 4 pre HRT, and the whole area is small in general. I also have a..complicated I guess? lbido/sex drive. I also had very very slght gyneomastia, even when I was anorexic, pre HRT (I didn't show but you could see it if I was shirtless)

People have always said I looked young. I have passed as a girl without hormones, a flat chest with short hair in boys clothes more times than I can count. People were always shocked when I said my age, and would always say I looked 12 or had a babyface. My nickname at one of my jobs was "Peter Pan" cuz I looked like I never grew up. Even my mom said at one point any guy that liked me would basically be a pedo, which kinda hurt.

Also, not sure if this is relevant but I am 18 (almost 19), I have wanted to be female since my earliest memory and I am attracted to men.

Is it possible I am intersex? What conditions should I investigate?

Anything is possible. The only way to really tell is have it checked out. But I wouldn't really think that ll the things you mentioned would be a specific indicator of being intersex. You mentioned 3 inches after HRT and 4 before, well with me not turned on and if I didn't have testicles, I wouldn't even have to tuck and sometimes it even tries to hide I think. :embarrassed: I can wear ladies watches with plenty of band left over, men's look funny on me. I wear a size 91/2 to 10 female shoe size and hip bones are slightly smaller than my shoulders. And I am often called ma'am on the phone and have to consciously lower my voice to sound male. I do know and have know that I have low testoterone levels but don't believe that I am intersex. Of course I've never really been checked for it either.

At 18 your still pretty much a kid and haven't really stopped growing yet but starting HRT should keep you from gaining more male charecteristics. So count yourself luck on that one.

No, I meant, 3 and 4 inches at the...fullest haha. Wayyy less at other times, like 1-2 inches, depending. I don't have to tuck at all deerp. And yeah I have small wrists too. Mens watches would be way to big, I can wear my half sisters and she's 5'5, 115 lbs, with a very small frame. Also my fingers overlap like half a thumb past the bend on my middle finger.

But yeah either way I don't really care. Its just that i shared characteristics with certain conditions like maybe AIS so I just wondered

I'm in no way an expert in this, this is just a guess but judging by your post, and the pic you posted earlier, I'd say its possible for sure. You're like a fricken model lol, curvy in all the right places, and that's w/o being on hormones for that long of a time even.

Yeppers it is possible but it's hard to say. Unless your mom is really tall your height rules out most IS conditions so it would be easy to test.

If you were IS you would probs be XXY. Most XXY people do have gynecomastia though not all. XXY causes your genitals to not work as good bc of the extra X chromosome so you would have low T.

But you could also not have an IS condition and have a normal male variation in the androgen receptor gene. Basically what happens there is some males have a lot of something called CAG repeats in their androgen receptor gene which makes it not work as well, so it takes more T to masculinize that person. This can mimic PAIS except it is not as severe, it is a normal variation and doesnt impair male development really. You could test for that with a basic sex hormone panel (if you are not taking HRT)... T would be normal to elevated and LH would be elevated.

um. Anyway so it's *possible* technically but if you wanna know for sure you should see a dr and get your bloodwork done as well as a karyotype test.

I would say it is probable that you are an intersexed person of some type.  If you feel you NEED to know, start with an endo who works in this area.

Oh, BTW...  You are absolutely beautiful.

Hugs,

Jen
To move forward is to leave behind that which has become dear. It is a call into the wild, into becoming someone currently unknown to us. For most, it is a call too frightening and too challenging to heed. For some, it is a call to be more than we were capable of being, both now and in the future.

Hiya Hon,
You perfectly fit the description of a former TG girlfriend. She was built just exactly as you describe yourself, in fact she was a dead ringer only more boyish looking in the face. She was born AIS (Androgyne Insensitivity Syndrome). There are several different degrees of it, but essentially she was tall and willowy, had a tiny chest width for even a small boy. Her voice had never changed and everyone took her for a gay boy although she liked both men and women alike. Once she got on HRT she developed nice boobies and put on a little much needed weight. Eventually she got SRS which corrected a rather odd problem she had below the belt line. I would bet that the last paragraph of this article describes your condition. I've seen a dozen or so of your photos and am pretty sure I'm right.

As long as you remain healthy, I'm not sure if it matters if you have an I.S. condition.

You are very feminine, and if transition is your future, then you have a super head start.  If you want to live in a male role, then you should probably talk to a doctor about your hormonal levels.
