Gradiva, who has been called "the Madonna of Russia," told HuffPost Live that she didn't think Russia's law was "really about gay people, believe it or not."

Well yeah, the politicians villainize a group of people to distract the public from their own deeds.

She probably has to say that. The last pop stars that upset Putin ended up in prison on hooligan charges.

Putin always finds scapegoats to take pressure away from other issues, so yeah I agree; although,  its still obviously about gay people because Russia still has a huge bias against the lgbt community.
