Yes.

Electrolysis is a long, slow process. I am currently 40+ hours into it and we are still working on my neck. Still have not touched my face.

I wanted to speed things up so I bought a laser package the other day and had my face lasered yesterday for the first time.  :-\.  I will combine laser and electrolysis as I have plenty of gray hairs in my beard and laser does nothing for them.

If you have light skin and dark facial hair, there is probably no need yet for electrolysis.  Get the laser, it's much less expensive, less painful (for me anyway) and takes less time.

I did (do).

My understanding is that hairs can be in one of 3 (some say 4) stages of their growth cycle.  Only in one of these stages will the treatment stand a chance of being effective.  And when you consider that a hair that is in this "sensitive" phase may resist the treatment (cause sometime they are stubborn little buggers) you see why multiple treatment sessions over a period of time are required.

My experience (based on both laser and electrolysis) bears this out.

If you are comfortable not shaving, then don't.

Just clocked 2 years of electro and I have just stopped shaving (3weeks ago). Most of what has grown is pale and hard to see.  It will be getting zapped this weekend. Until everything has been cleared, you will probably need to shave if you need to shave now.

As is normal for these topics, each of us is different. I am in my early 50s and my face hair was red, brown, white, grey and no colour much so laser was out. Also, a mature beard may be a bit stubborn and perhaps thicker than on a younger person.

God the end result is so worth it!
