I am guessing that just about every MtF, either prior to transition, or early into it, takes a serious look at her body to determine what will be the easiest and hardest parts to appear female. Clearly my face will be the hardest. I will deal with that down road. While I suspect that just about everybody wants boobs (Oh, I do too in the worse way), I have long known that my legs are my most girlish part of my body. If the hormones add any shape there at all, I should be able to pass from the thighs down. I have also noticed recently that I have pretty round hips, and just need a tiny a bit of help there from the hormones to have an amazing result. My butt is a little flat, but I am hoping for some serious hormone action there. The thing that stops me from being passable from the abs down is the tire around my waist. If I can get that back to something like I had in my youth, I could have a pretty good waist to hip ratio. I have made that my top priority over the coming months, and have developed a pretty comprehensive diet and exercise program to accomplish that. My goal is to look really good in skirts and tight jeans. The thing I am wondering about is whether I am too old to be emphasizing the lower half of my body in that way, but I am thinking that I got to go with what I got.

It's great that you seem to seem to have a realistic view of your body and can see your strengths and weakness clearly! In addition to hormones being able to do quite a bit for you, learning to style your particular body shape is great, too. Figuring out if you're an apple, ruler, pear or hourglass body type and looking up specific fashion tips by body shape might be to your benefit, too. I really don't think there is a certain age that's a cutoff to emphasizing any body part. As long as your outfit is tasteful and you have the body for it, wear what ever makes you feel best!

Outstanding advice! April, follow this and you will do fine. :)

Being able to evaluate your body part by part is a great way to manage dysphoria, rather than writing the whole thing off.
I found dividing my face up works wonders too... maybe you should take another look at it whilst covering parts, you may find aspects are feminine enough that you don't get 'the lurch' when looking at them.

Killer legs are a tgirls blessing!

Body... meet brain.  Now follow her lead and there will be no more trouble, you dig?

I tend to do this when I wake up in the morning. I cover up the parts of my body that i dont like with a towel because in all honesty I like MOST of my body, but when im dysphoric i end up hating it all, so i just do the towel thing and in the end i notice that the parts of me i dont like can be easily changed by the hormones over time and are honestly few compared to the stuff I do like (or am currently satisfied with that I expect to be more feminized as time progresses).

For some reason I've noticed that I like my legs better when my feet/calves are covered by either socks or boots... come to think of it i think my entire body looks better when my feet/calves are covered 0_o i assume this is because it adds proportion to my "football player" legs (really large quads) and makes them look smaller :P

I also found that covering my hair with a towel (to dry after a shower) brings out my facial feminine features, as well as wearing a wig also does. But my natural hair brings out my masculine features >_< very strange indeed.

I feel nervous about whether or not I'll pass, but I do have some features going for me.

My older sister is probably half an inch shorter than me. We've also got about the same shoulder distance. We share a lot of features in general. My girlfriend and lots of people often tell us that we have the same face, which is pretty true. We often get asked if we are twins.

So I feel pretty good about my height, face, and general body shape. I'm just about to start HRT, but I already look good in girls jeans. I have a pretty round butt for a guy.

My hands and feet are pretty masculine at the moment, but if they slim a bit, it should be fine.

My hair is what bothers me the most. Head hair, body hair, and facial hair. I'm not balding or anything thankfully, but my hair is not very long right now. It's also a bit curly. My facial hair is pretty sparse and light colored for a 25 year old, and it does not grow fast at all. I still hate it so much.

I also hate my down-there-zone. But it's going to be a long time before I can do anything about that.

I can't believe I'm actually going to start HRT next week. I'm optimistic about what it will be able to do for me. Just optimistic about my transition in general.
"When I think of all the worries people seem to find
And how they're in a hurry to complicate their mind
By chasing after money and dreams that can't come true
I'm glad that we are different, we've better things to do
May others plan their future, I'm busy lovin' you "
