Before going in for surgery, will a surgeon listen to concerns about appearances? For example, I'd like to ask for a labia majora that is not that big or fat. I'd like one that does not protrude that much. Are options like that available? Yeah, maybe a weird question.

I don't think that is a wierd question at all.
I date men predominantly so I want one engineered that
Men will find very pretty and clean.
As far as I understand brassard may be taking into
His design the patients input.

Not weird! And I want to know too! So...

You should bring all this up with your surgeon.

Only thing i see that might be trouble is the landscape and or material.

I left it totally up to the capable hands and aesthetic judgement of my surgeon. I was sure he would know best.

I wasn't disappointed ;D

You *can* ask, but things like available material will limit the outcome, as will reality. :)

(I turned out to be someone who swells a *lot,* and I'm still a bit puffier than anyone intended down there. I don't mind, but it's a reminder that your body can override your wishes and the doctor's good intentions!)

I too have aesthetics as my #1 concern, and want it to be as natal as is possible, externally and internally. as well as functionality. I certainly would not want to go back in out of pocket for a secondary labiaplasty if it can be done how i imagine it to be once healed. just like I recently became aware of Skene's ducts as the source of lubrication from the prostate of natal women (rather than it coming from via the urethra in males), and now i want that as part of my GRS if its possible...

I'm not worried about whether the thing looks "porn star quality" or not.  I just want it functional with few or no complications.  It's not like I'm going to spend a lot of time looking at it anyway.

I was actually kidding about making the "Fill Jill" porn series anyway.

Where does the material for the labia majora come from? I think I have quite a bit of fat surrounding my penis area. (I'm only about 10 lbs overweight) Can the surgeon remove excess fat there? A little liposuction?
  •

Jenna Marie

Gina : It depends on the surgeon's technique. Brassard builds the labia majora out of scrotal tissue; the Thai surgeons generally use penile tissue, I believe.

(As for a bit of lipo, that probably also depends on the surgeon... and whether you're willing to pay extra for a bonus service.)

If you are unterested here is a vidio that shows how it all is done. This is of Dr. Bowers but it is the same as Dr. Brassard, McGinn and others do. Each might have there own little twists but in general it comes down to what they remove and relocate. You want to look natural to your own build.

Warning the video is of real surgery so caution.
I removed the link if you would like the link send me a message it is to graphic to auto show up on site.

Certainly do discuss ALL of the surgical details with your surgeon, but remember that while they will do their best for you, it will be nearly 18 months to two years before it will be swelling free and maybe have changed as you go on a diet or exercise or gain weight.  Maybe for a two to three day window will it be ideal.  I did have to pay a bit extra because I was overweight, but my vulva was constructed proportional to my weight and other body issues.  Once in place and reasonably healed, the area will reflect your weight and curvature as you are, and maybe not how you would like it to be.  My gynecologist has said that I look my age and health as an average woman, no better or worse than her natal patients my age.  She knows I am trans* because I told her.

Wiser now about Post Op reality!!

Thai surgeons also use scrotal skin for the labia majora and penile skin for the labia minora.

Thank you all for your info and opinions. I appreciate it.
