Sounds like a reaction that the body has when it tries to come to terms with unexpected hormone changes. It would be entirely logical to assume this, as many menopausal women claim to get irritated easily, etc, and of course... most people with kids know the horrors of puberty! Their little 'uns turning into moody, angsty hooligans :p
When I was a kid I used to be very emotional. Now I get angry all the time, tiniest things set me off. I still feel very emotional, but there's a layer of constant bubbling anger that tempers the emotional side. I do wonder what E might do to me in that respect, as I wouldn't want to be unstable or become incapable of repressing my fear, sadness or anger at all.
