I'm just curious. When I'm heavier my chest becomes more prominent. When I get skinny my hips stick out they're 34.5. I like actually how I look since my shoulders are 38" but my hips just curve... How can I make them look straight again without gaining weight any advice?

Like chipper, the way you wear you clothes can hide a lot.

But generally guys recommend developing the upper body and perhaps even the thighs to draw the eye away from the hip area.

I don't think that it's a matter of losing or gaining weight, but about developing where you carry the bulk of your musculature.

I have the same problem. I've started building up my shoulders more and wearing my pants a little lower. I also layer my shirts, even in the dreadful summer months. It has worked so far.

Like Kreuzfidel said, building up the muscle will draw attention away from your hips.

Kreuzfidel is right, weight is too vague a term,  because you want to maximize musculature and minimize fat, but muscle weighs 4 times as much as fat. Developing your shoulders goes a long way toward a more masculine shape. Most feminine curves are from fat, so losing fat would minimize the curves. Fortunately, weight lifting builds muscle and helps one lose fat, if done properly.

I also agree with everyone here, the way you wear clothes does a lot too. Finding mens clothes that fit will give a more masculine shape than even the most masculine women's clothing because of the way they're cut and the way they will hang on your body.
