Should I come out to my dad tonight?

My dad text me this morning asking if I was available to talk on the phone later tonight. He and my mom are coming down in a couple weeks, he has a business conference in the area, so he wants to talk about that, but he also mentioned that he wants to talk about my plans for the summer. The thing is I plan on living full-time this summer. I have no idea how my parents will react when I come out.
I would rather come out to them in person, but I don't want to ruin their trip in a couple of weeks. So do I come out tonight and if they aren't cool with it, they can just ignore me and not visit during their trip or do I tell them in person and risk their happiness?

I think in person is best as well because you would be available for questions. Just my opinion though. YOU will not ruin their trip unless THEY want it to be ruined. Just be honest as this sounds like a good time to do it. Summer is not that far away. :)

PS-You are very beautiful! Any parent should be proud how you turned out. :-*

I tried to tell my mom in person. Couldn't get a moment to do it. I did it over the phone and it worked out fine. Not to contradict Miss Jess. :P I do think she's right, in person would be better. But if it turns out there isn't a good time or place, you still should tell them. How happy will your summer be when the real you is out and about? :D

Be careful with me 'cause I'd like to stay that way

I would tell him now, so the shock phase wears off before they comes down.  Your parents might need a little time to process it and I would think it would be best to get that over with now rather than have it waste some of the limited time they're visiting.  But that's just me and there's of course no right answer.  Good luck.
"Choosing to be true to one's self — despite challenges that may come with the journey — is an integral part of realizing not just one's own potential, but of realizing the true nature of our collective human spirit. This spirit is what makes us who we are, and by following that spirit as it manifests outwardly, and inwardly, you are benefiting us all." -Andrew WK

I would also tell them now. Its easier to be logical when its not face to face. I told my SO over the phone - fortunate for me it was very positive so when we met it was more the praticality of the transition. Good luck dear.
When we first start our journey the perception and moral values all dramatically change in wonderment. As we evolve further it all becomes normal again but the journey has changed us forever.
