Making Your Own Binder?

I've been seeing patterns for making your own cloth and elastic binder. Has anyone else seen these? Are they safe?

I'd like to stay as far on the edge as I can't without going over, out from the edge one can see things they cannot from the centre

Never used them as Underworks were only $30 or so.  Some people say you can use those compressing "girdle" type undergarments or bicycle shorts and cut a hole in the crotch for your head.

I made my own binder. It ended up costing a lot because I kept messing up and needing more tools. It hurt and I ended up buying a real binder.

Not necessarily. I think it would be how tight it is and whether or not there was any give. I think if it tended to get tighter, it might be dangerous.
