I have been to 2 vocal coaches.. With little to no ability to affect the pitch of my normal speaking voice. Which by the way averages 85-90hz. I have communicated with Dr Kim and have plans to have surgery in late August. Dr Kim seems to be confident he can get me close to the female range. Im still skeptical, as my falsetto voice is still only around 145-150Hz..

I get so focused on raising the pitch that all of the other components fall by the way side and I believe that's why I have had poor results from over 15 sessions of vocal therapy.

Please ladies give me some ray of hope...

Absolutely, that is easy!

Regardless of how low your voice is, shortening those long vocal cords will make a massive difference in the way you sound... and Dr Kim will make it sound natural instead of pinched and small.

Even if you are in the 150-160hz range, you're going to sound like a girl if you just do the other stuff like resonance and inflection. And having a higher pitch at all is going to make that a heck of a lot easier.

If you were to have a much much higher pitch, I would imagine it might sound odd with your resonator structures. Just a hunch though.

Thanks Jenny!!

I think I'm going to hold off on doing any more vocal training until surgery. I want my voice to be the absolute rested place it can be as well as the fact its a depressant to go no where..
