Sometimes, it's hard to find words to tell you how much you mean to me. A lot of times, I don't say anything at all. But I hope someday, you'll understand, having you is what I live for...(I Love you my Queen )

Declan.

I still haven't gotten around to changing my legal name, lol. I always say "You know that song 'A Boy Named Sue'? It's that kind of deal." It's a popular Johnny Cash song, and a lot of people know it. Usually gets a laugh and people move on. At the very least, no one questions it. You might try that next time.

yea.. I had lots of moments throughout life when I got called by a female name in a situation where people thought I was a dude.  I've never been really freaked out by it though, so I may not be able to give the best advice in that regard.  Usually they just say "odd name for a guy" and move on.  Its odd she made such a big thing of it (maybe they had gender markers on the roll sheet? shouldn't have, but maybe they did).  I've even had nurses taking blood and stuff comment about how my parents weren't too nice on my name and such like that.  One time the lady taking my blood said "Oh look they've even got you in here as female.  They must have seen your name along the line and changed it."  I just laughed.  I can't remember if I was even on T yet.  I think I may have been.  Time... gets blurry....

In this situation I'd just be happy that I passed so well.  I also doubt that there were as many stares as you thought there were in your heads.  Nowadays everyone is absorbed in their own lives or on their phones, and in this case nervous about their own interview.

A man by any name is still a man, eh?
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.
