So dr. Pichet cleaned the inside of my vagina today and it felt amazing. I was getting almost orgasmic on the bed. i had my SRS last monday. Did anyone experienced such a sensation so early? It looks like i don't have to worry that the dilation will be painful :) I am so greatful for dr. Pichet. He's a fantastic surgeon. Bad news are that i can't pee without catheter yet. I manage a little but it felt as it was burning so they inserted the catheter again. It was the most painful experience in my life to get the catheter in and out. I hope that i will be able to pee until wednesday because i have my flight back home at thursday. I can't go back home with the catheter.

Hi Jennifer,

Word of warning. Stay where you are until EVERYTHING is working properly. Especially anything to do with your bladder/ urethra.

If it costs you to reschedule your flight, so be it. You don't want to come home with problems, as nobody in your home country is going to want to know you, medically speaking.

As you start to heal, your scars will harden and the surgery site will not be as "elastic" as it is today. This may make dilation a little unpleasant or painful as you increase the size of the dilators. This is all natural.

All surgeons are fantastic. So take him off the pedestal you've put him on and evaluate your whole procedure based on the cold light of day.

Hope you ave a safe and speedy recovery.

Thank you. I am worrying that i will never be able to urinate. It's seems like i totally forgot how to pee and how it feels to want to pee. Did anyone else experienced this problem. I am afraid that i will never go back home because of it. I just wish i could know how to pee, but i just don't know what to do. Can there be any serious complications? I am very worried about it.  :(

Yes. This happened to me during an unrelated surgery down in that area of the body. I had to be catheterized for two days. After two days, they removed the catheter and I no longer had any problem. Doctor said it was due to the swelling around my urinary tract which usually goes down rather quickly.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

Hi Jennifer,

Essentially there is no difference in the "mechanics" of urinating. You use the same sphincter muscle to release a flow from your bladder. The only possible change would be the sensation experienced.

You should be drinking plenty of fluids, particularly to flush the anti biotics from your body. Even with your catheter how much do you urinate per hour and is there any solid particles in it?  Is it straw coloured or milky straw colour? If you're not using a catheter bag for inspection, void the capped catheter into a glass container for inspection.

A health bladder should be expelling in excess of a litre an hour, and you shouldn't be feeling any discomfort.

Do not leave their care until YOU are completely satisfied with your ability to urinate, freely, without discomfort and adequate volume based on your liquid intake. You should be drinking at least a litre an hour.

The cocktail of antibiotics, anaesthesia, saline solutions you've been subjected to can cause dehydration to an extent. Hence the need to go over board in flushing fluids.

Hope this clears up quickly for you.

Are you still using the bag or do they have you using a stopper? I know the reason they use the stopper is to get your bladder back working as it is supposed to.

Yes swelling plays a huge part in things and being able to pee. I had no trouble but 1 other girl in the other room had to go home with hers put back in. She had her GP remove it when she got back home.

Ok New Vagina is always good. As Catherine said about it was when it gets weeks and months out is so true. It gets tight as the healing process goes. Not to make you feel bad or worried, just you will need to keep your dilations up to keep the vagina happy.

Remember you and you alone are going to be the one responsible for your outcome. If you cheat it can cause major problems healing. It is not easy, takes a lot of time each day but you will only get back what you put into it.

Wish you steady recovery and fast healing.

Amazing sensation one week after surgery. I would say a lot of that was coming from your prostrate. It is now so much easier to be touched.

Lots of enjoyments to come girl.  >:-) ;D

Cathrine, i try to drink a lot but eating is horrible as i have diarrhea (mostly because of stress and all the emotions as i have Aspergers which is causing me to have very sensitive stomach). The colour of the urine looks pretty normal to me. When i drink more it has water colour sometimes.

Doctor said that my urethra is very swollen which is causing the unability to pass the urine. I will stay in Thailand until i can pee by myself although i miss my boyfriend :'(

Hi Jennifer,

Good to hear from you. Just make sure they are not giving you any stool softeners in your medication regime. It is typical for them to do this as it ensures the bowel is working and you have no fistulas. If they are giving you laxatives, talk to them about stopping them.

To calm your emotions, try a little yoga and or meditation. That will aid in your recovery as well.

Did the Dr. mention what the cause of the swelling was? Your recent procedure or an infection.

See if you can get hold of some yoghurt. That will hopefully balance your pro biotics in your intestinal tract and eleviate the diarrhoea.  Cranberry juice will settle any UTI's you may have or at least prevent any. To me, a burning sensation sounds like an infection more so than simple swelling.

What medication do they have you on?
