Darrin Scott

Surgery got pushed back to March 12th. That's the soonest the surgeon could take me.

Oh wow, I'm really sorry to hear that, Darrin.  I'm glad you have a date, though - time will fly. :)

Thank you. It'll be ok. At least I can do my shots again. I hate being off of them.

Surgery is now a week and a half away. Hope the weather cooperates with me this time!

Thanks dude! I was thinking that earlier. It looks like the weather is going to be ok. It's cloudy on tuesday and 70% of rain on wednesday. So I think it'll be ok. I'll definitely keep everyone updated!

Thanks all! Got a question. I'm not draining much. I'm only draining like 1/4cc and under and today we only changed them once. Yesterday, 3 times. Is this normal?

As long as you are sure you have a vacuum. Before you put the top on the grenade :)  be sure to squeeze it really really tight. Squeeze it vertically and then horizontally like you are trying to put it in a really small duffle, that's what Leland does (at New Beginnings) and he knows his stuff. I didn't have much, more than that, but not much. I only changed it 3 times the first day and only twice the second and after that once.

As long as you are doing it right like Jay described, then don't worry. People drain varying amounts of fluids.

I barely drained at all, it's normal for some people.

I was just thinking about ya. I remembered your surgery was coming up but couldn't remember when to save my life. Congrats man! I'm glad you're on the road to recovery and land of the comfortable.

^Same.  I had hardly any fluid coming out and they took my drains out completely after just 3 days.

Darrin Scott

Thanks all. Pain is a lot less worse today. I'm supposed to get my drains out Wednesday!

I have another question. I have a little burning sensation where my right drain hole is. Is this normal? I also have bruising right under my arm pits. Which might be from the actual procedure.

  •

Alexthecat

Are you cleaning around the hole with a baby wipe? That can cause burning.
