do you have anything interesting in your room or have a large collection of?
or perhaps something weird, or even, 'not right' by the standards of today's society?  =)

i am a doll collector  not barbie dolls or bratz... but  blythes, pullips and ball joint dolls (luts dolls to be specific).
i also have the soft spot for many things that are cute. my room is cluttered with just mini trinkets and small miniatures.

i get people raising their eyebrow when they see them lining up on my shelf especially dolls, but i have long past the phase to give a $#@.

speak up~

I don't consider myself a doll collector but have a collection of cabbage patch dolls (36 dolls total of all hair colors and races)  I have five who were born in the BabyLand General Hospital at the Cabbage Patch ;D  I really don't know how much they are but I've heard that they are a bit expensive.

In addition to my doll collection, I also collect plush animals of all sizes, shapes, species, and colors.  I haven't counted them lately but I'm guessing there are about 300 or 350 of them.  Yeah, they are all over my room, on the walls, on the ceiling, on top of my bed, inside the closet; I even have some outside in the living room sitting on the sofa.   ;D

Great topic by the way! :)

I used to collect beany babies as my mother did, but my -insert very unkind thing to say about someone here- grandmother of whom, I do not consider my grandmother anymore, threw them out supposedly and I cant find them....:(

I sleep in a library. Books stacked up 20 high in a maze of floor space.. Book shelves filled with books and stack upon stack of papers, notebooks, folders, etc. Mountains of VHS and DVDs standing on every avaliable surface. I sleep on a small bit of the bed surrounded by books. I must have them close to me.
I must sleep with a light on. Who knows if I'll wake in the middle of the night with the urgent need to reread a certain passage, ya know?

I have my collection of plush toys on my dresser.  My polar bear wears my felt Fidora hat when I'm not using it. My little lamb lays at the front with its legs flopping over the edge. Daddy gave me a plush soccer ball years ago, and a Teddy sits atop it in the back so he can see over the fray of all the others I haven't mentioned. I love them.

I also have the room surrounded in book cases.  I have a great collection of classics, astronomy, botany, and novels. And for the first time in my life, it is organized and neat!

oh i love books and musics... but... i guess i kinda lied a little... my stuff are mostly scattared that don't really cosidered to be a 'collection'
i also have one sword that i practice japanese martial arts with....it's probably the second most expensive one (the first being my dolls).

plush toys i have a few.. and i got one giant hello kitty (which i still am been asked to dispose of it)

so, do any of you guys/girls  get into trouble from friends/SO/parents ??

no I don't get in trouble with...pretty much anyone, not with my SO since I don't have one, not with my father since I don't make trouble for him, and I don't have any friends IRL, and otherwise I don't make anyone mad really...
as for the people outside of those categories, I am not getting into that...

Nah, my gf loves the dust bunny collection. She spent years being accused of being a bad housekeeper by her husband, so having a guy who's pretty well just happy to see the floor is a bonus for her. Course wait till she moves in with me muahahahaha.

My first ex, who was never a pet lover, once said..."there's a cat hair in my omelette". I said "oh yeah, they're everywhere. I'm sure you ate more than one while you were sleeping." She was not entirely impressed.

Now if I collected Star Wars action figures, the story might be different.

I collect Hand Drums.
My collection began with a small frame drum called Rebana Penganak I got in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Then I got
a Dholak from India,
a Full Circle ceramic Dumbek,
a Remo Djembe,
a Doira from Uzbekistan,
a Remo Frame Drum,
a set of 3 World Beat Congas,
and most recently a set of Tabla from India (which I'm still learning to play).
That's 11 drums so far... it's a start.
I find inspiration in the book When the Drummers Were Women by Layne Redmond.
Here's what I find about compromise--
don't do it if it hurts inside,
'cause either way you're screwed,
eventually you'll find
you may as well feel good;
you may as well have some pride

Tons, and I mean TONS, of books. I had hundreds prior to meeting my wife, and it turns out her collection is just as massive as mine... in combining them, I think we've gathered 5% of the U.S. supply of books! I also have a pretty vast collection of DVDs, mostly horror and comedy; shot glasses from strange places; unusual knives; and James Dean memorabilia. I live a strange life.
