Does HRT reduce your foot size?

Yes, my feet shrank. When I first started buying women's shoes I was a size 10 and I bought several pair and they fit well. Then I began noticing that those same shoes were fitting looser even though I hadn't lost any weight. Today I've lost about 25-30lbs since I bought the shoes and they definitely rattle around loosely on my feet now.

As everyone else says, it can. I'm not sure of the mechanism, but I do know I have a bunch of really cute shoes I bought pre-HRT and only wore a few times each, and none of them fit anymore. They were all a size 10.5-11, and now they're too loose to wear. (Really annoying!) Also one pair of combat boots that had fit perfectly for years... and are now about a size too big.

All the shoes I bought too early are heels, too. :) Figures.

Come to think of it...are there any FTM whose feet grew and gained a few sizes and also grew in height being on testosterone?
I would think it possible, though I don't know any actual information on it.

I'm surprised that some have experienced their feet getting smaller on HRT. My clodhoppers are a US Mens 10 1/2 which works out to be about an 11 or 12 in Womens. I'd love for them to get smaller once I'm on HRT, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

Sorry to burst anyone's bubble but medically feet do not shrink from hrt. Possible to lose weight and impact width but length but feet growv your entire life. Get used to having big feet. Sorry!

So which part am I wrong about?  The part about wearing men's shoe size 9 in the past or the part about wearing women's 8 1/2 now?  That's a pretty big difference.  I think it's equivalent to losing two full sizes or a size and a half.  So if that's impossible, then it must never have happened, and I must be getting one of them wrong. :)

Seriously though, I am the first to admit that there is some other stuff going on with me that is atypical for trans* people.  So I'm careful about commenting on hormones because they do affect me in strange ways.  My doctor's mind is routinely boggled.

ThePhoenix : I'm atypical myself in responsiveness, but I remain amazed at the people who are effectively calling those of us reporting this phenomenon liars - it's that my feet shrank or there's cobbler elves living in my house expanding my existing shoes, far as I can tell. :)

(I haven't lost weight - gained a bit, actually - so it's not that.)

Didnt mean to call anyone a liar. What I should have said is generally hrt has no impact. In reality, I think the vast majority of people will not experience any shrinkage unfortunately and its a shame but kinda how it is.

Sorry to offend anyone.

Lisa : Fair enough. I'm sorry if that came off snappish; there are a couple other people who chase these threads in order to *explicitly* say that anyone who reports otherwise is making it up. And you're absolutely right that every single personal report of what HRT has done should have an implied disclaimer of "FOR ME, and who knows if anyone else will ever experience this."

Jenna, hopefully im not one of those people ever! I truth wish there were a pill to shrink feet, hands and shoulders. Oh well, i'll just blame it on my mom and dad! They'd agree the gave me the wrong chromosomes.  Lol

Lisa : No, you don't seem to be! And really, that seems like kind of a boring hobby, but who am I to judge. :)

Yeah, it's definitely all our parents' fault!! (Me, I wish I got my mom's tiny skinny build...)

I guess you are all using US sizes? If so I am stuffed  :'( my feet are a size 10-11 UK/Aus men's, which I think is a size 11-12 US men's. Although I have very long toes so that is never nice.

A straight line may be the shortest distance between two points, but it is by no means the most interesting

I hope so!! I'm a 13-14 in boys and at least a 14 in womens. Girls with small feet are so dang lucky :embarrassed:

Ummm, sorry to disprove your point but what I posted was the truth. Yeah...I'm going to lie about something as trivial as my shoe size decreasing. ::)

I lost ~ 1 1/2 size on HRT (which was kinda unexpected and I am literally stepping out of several pairs of really nice and comfy unisex loafers :( ). But it is possible - not necessarily with You, but I can attest that it happens :). Some people get C cup by just looking at hormones, others experience feet shrinkage :).

That was me. 9 weeks on hormones and I'm a C cup. I'll trade that in a second for small feet. NOTHING cute comes in size 11.

I know a girl who's feet shrunk during HRT and she also became smaller in height and I heard about it from others as well. I wonder how this is even possible.

I've heard of some people losing a couple of inches in height. That sounds a bit extreme to me. I lost a half inch in height, but I think it was related to the loss of muscle mass in the feet.
