Hi !

My facial hairs are growing more and more and I never shaved... I don't know if I should do it.
It could help me looking more female, but it would grow again...
I'm not on HRT yet (in fact, I didn't see a therapist yet...) but would it help me to get rid off these sh*tty hairs ? ???

Please tell me :-\

It doesn't hurt to. I have to shave every day to keep everything quiet.

It's electrolysis or laser. Every MTF has to do it, it's extremely common, and unfortunately, pricey. It can range anywhere from $50-150 an hour, and can take anywhere from 40-100 hours to complete, sometimes even more. Shaving won't help or hurt its ability to be removed.

It also depends when hormones can be started. If not until after mid-puberty (15 or so) then the beard will be pretty set in.

depending on your color you can also make them lighter with some de colorizing cream.

until the beard is settled with terminal (heavy) hair you could also wax, but with PROPER wax especially suited for female faces.
Better not DIY, but go to a salon.

I heard waxing is really painful. Not sure but I think shaving makes the hairs thicker but you could just trim it and keep it short.

I definitely wouldn't wax my face. As for the shaving, that is an old wive's tale. When you shave the end of the hair becomes squared off instead of tapered like it is without shaving which give the illusion of hair becoming thicker. No matter what you do the hair will come in and get thicker shaving or not. Sounds like you are at the stage where it is starting to grow and if you don't shave, all its gonna' do is get longer.

So yes, if HRT is not an option now, shave and worry about laser or electrolysis when you do start HRT. Plus if you are just starting to grow facial hair, shaving now will still give you really smooth skin. And another plus is your skin will get used to the razor so that means closer shaves without irritation later on.

It's a common misconception that shaving makes hair grow in thicker. The hair itself doesn't actually grow in thicker after shaving, but it can create the visual illusion that it is. There are many factors that go into this, such as hair color, thickness, the density of hair in a given area, skin color, the angle at which the hair was cut, etc.

I have very fair skin and somewhat dark facial hair, but I've found that if I make it a habit to shave everyday, or every other day at the least, my facial hair is hardly noticeable, especially with the use of makeup.

Q: should I shave or not?
A: when do cis girls begin shaving legs/pits. Want less facial hair? Best option available is to shave. Hair folicals have begun dev and won't go away without electrode pulse. Best case to get hrt ASAP, but still a long time away. From personal experience, major facial hair by 19.

If you do end up shaving use the traditional wet shaving technique with a double-edged safety razor,  it gives you an even closer shave.. You'll get much more shadow if you go with just the regular razors you can get anywhere. Hope this helps!

Yes LonelyFrench unless you want it to grow out and be all scraggly. There is nothing you can do to stop it now other than the laser or electrolysis.

I think the answer is quite simple: just shave it until you are able to start HRT or get laser/electro. You're 15 so take advantage... I have to wear expensive foundation because even with the smoothest shave I still have a shadow. I plan on getting laser in the future (after about 6 months of HRT) because my endo says that it effects everyones facial hair differently, so i'd rather wait and see how it effects mine before i spend hundreds on something I could've spent less on by just waiting.

Shaving your face doesn't make your hair grow faster or stronger, as Caitlyn said, its a common misconception. I went to culinary school and had to shave every single day and I had this belief that the more you shave, the more painful and difficult it gets.... fast forward to now, where I actually look FORWARD to shaving so that it can make my face prettier... and it no longer feels the same as it did in culinary school... so i guess I can contend that if you think its going to grow back faster and hurt more when you shave, then your mind is simply going to fill in the gaps where pain and discomfort should go, because i shave more often now-a-days than i did back in my culinary school days, and I rarely every feel like my hair has grown back "harder or faster"... in fact i feel like the more I shave, the slower it grows back.

Just shave... I recommend you do it before it becomes more unmanageable. I wouldn't wax though because waxing your face is WHOA CRAZY painful... I've waxed my whole body and the face is just way too sensitive an area... *shudders*

So I should start shaving now and do it often to avoid having darker hairs ?

If your facial hair is noticiable, shave. Your hair is gonna grow as fast as its gonna grow, so how often you shave is dependant on how fast your hair grows. So shave, and when you have to do iy again, do it. I personally can get away with every other day.
