This thread is reminding me I need to repair Jingle.  A bear who is about the same size I was when he was given to me (I was 3) and who is in dire need of a visit to the haberdashery.

I have three younger sisters and we always shared our toys in that funky 1970s way so I never had the OPs situation to deal with.

Well that was fun! What's next?

Close to none on the toy side. But for games, it started with a video game console 25 years ago, for the whole family, and very few board games, like Risk of Trivial Pursuit, which is better than nothing. "Far" later, I managed to put a hand on a NES (1994), and then a SNES (1995). At that time, and a few years before, I was much into being a programmer, which I am now.
This is ok, I guess.

Talking about games...

My first videogame was an Atari 2600 that was from my grandfather. I spent a lot of time playing Pac Man and Defender! On the christmas of 1993 I won a NES with Ducktales!!! On 1998 I got a GameBoyColor with Pokemón Red, one year later a Nintendo 64 with Zelda Ocarina of Time! So many good memories!!! I also loved playing The Sims, Age of Empires, StarCraft and Simcity (all the first ones!!!)

Ah, the nostalgia!

I played the HELL out of pitfall.

I still have my Atari with the "Smurfs"

Growing up the gender neutral toys for me were stuffed animals. I loved all of my toys and I was extremely sad at every yard sale and donation.   :'(

I still keep teddy bears though. When I met my x wife she was embarrassed to admit that she still had stuff bears and kept one in the bed with her. The amount of relief that crossed her face when I shrugged and started playing with her bear making it talk and act alive was priceless. I still do it for my son and to practice my various voices. I think it is the one thing that she really misses about having me in her life at this point.

This is my one of my bears. He has helped keep me safe and sane for quite some time on many adventures. From my previous home in Georgia where I found him on the curb in the rain outside my house to Southern Comfort Conference in Atlanta when I felt like crying when I saw myself as Christine for the first time. He's also not shy  :D

When it came to the Atari 2600, I was really into Pac-Man and Combat. There were tons of others, but those two stick out in my mind. As far as the NES goes, my faves were River City Ransom, Shadowgate, Deja Vu, Top Secret Episode and Rescue: The Embassy Mission.

have you played the Ducktales HD remake. I finished it yesterday. Beautiful, looks just like the show, plays great, has extra levels, you can unlock art, swim in the money bin, you get cutscenes that tell a bigger story than just "i want these artifacts". They even got the original voice actors, even Alan Young.

No! But I'd love to play it! Perhaps after I finish Skyrim for the second time (and with a mage) ^^

My mom still has this really old large tedddy bear that I got after I was born. She also has "faux-Portia" (as she is now known.) She asked me if I wanted them, but I would rather pass them down to my nieces or nephews. If they don't want them, they can be passed down to someone else or donated. Outside of "Mr Bacon", I'm not disrupting the Dotty Dog/Portia Porcupine thing that I have going on. :D

Nostalgia, indeed!! :)
I've just remembered : when my mother came back from Ontario or Québec (I don't remember) in 1993, she brought two ugly yellow bears my sister called Rudolph (Rodolphe) and Wilfried. But I was too old, maybe.
This is ok, I guess.

Most of my favs were masculine (shogun warriors,GIjoe, star wars). Although I was only kid with the female joe figs. I wish I still had my Scarlet and Baroness. Oh I also loved the sorceress lady from He-man.

Same here! I genuinely liked to play with "macho" toys, girls toys never clicked with me, except for my sister's Barbie and the 100 dresses for her. Scarlett and Baroness were very appealing to me, as they were sexy and tough, especially amongst a bunch of guys. There was nothing else like it at the time.

When he was ready he showed it to his friends and they said he had created a great statue. And the sculptor said he hadn't created anything, the statue was always there, he just cleared away the small peices." Rambo III

i once (kind of roleplayed) played an old grumpy balding high elf wizard, who had a very pronounced dark side, but had a big heart when it came to children. he'd kill every person who'd try to hurt them.He later became a vampire and archmage and i think head of the thieves guild too.

I loved trains and dinosaurs. I also was envious of the kids whose parents got them video games. My parents always though they would be too violent.

I was rather lucky, I was able to have my own Barbie doll(redhair, tan with freckles!), a ton of clothes for her including the Barbie car and Ken.

Also was hugely into My Little Ponies, not only did have a bunch of ponies, but the stable that it came in.

And who could forget the American Girls paper doll set of Samantha :)).

Meh, my toy interest was mostly model airplanes. I always was disgusted about how the boys of my mother's friends would treat theirs, always getting broken and everything.
Only one of mine was ever broken, and that's because my sister, at age 8, was still attached to her car seat, and used it in the basement to watch TV in. A little too close for comfort to my model airport. SHe then started rocking bak in it, and I was too zoned in on the arrival/departure whiteboard I had and scheduling flights to notice that she leaned back too far, lost her balance, and the chair fell on one of my models, breaking off the tail. The model was very special to me, an Atlantic Coast Airlines CRJ-200 in United Express 90s/early 2000s livery, given to me by my (now ex-) uncle, who at the time worked for ACA. I could not replace it as soon after, ACA broke away from the United Express banner and became Independence Air, which didn't last very long either. I still have it, somewhere, in (two) pieces.
Other than airplane models, I had a few cars, but was never really one for toys in general.

I guess books don't count, lol. That was kinda my refuge when I was a kid. I didn't really bother with toys so much. I suppose it would have been hard to buy separate toys since I had two brothers and times were tough. It was a case of "what all of them can play with". So yeah, while my brothers had huge buckets of Lego and Scalextric sets, I had two huge bookcases full of books that I would spend hours in my room reading over and over. Interestingly, I found a vast stockpile of them in my grandfather's attic once, they belonged to my grandmother. And the way they were written in the 50's and before... it was kinda cool to read.

That being said, I did have one thing. I'm not sure I'd call it a toy though. It was a backpack which was a giant Panda which I got through winning a newspaper competition for something. I took it on a school field trip for a week, and won an award for the most weight conscious stuffed animal, because I would make it really fat when I put my coat in it and then it would be really thin when I took it out again, lol. I still have that somewhere. :)

I literally begged and begged for a Barbie but was never successful. My mother was a bit cold. She finally gave in after constant begging and got me a KEN.  :-\

I was happy I guess, but it just wasn't the same.

I took him everywhere!
