Hey Jesse, I was the one dressed in black too nervous to say anything. It's only the second time I've gone, I'm very very bad around people in general. I'm really just trying to make some friends though :P

I'm so disappointed in myself for not going.  I was all ready, dressed up, switched shifts with someone so that I could make it and then at the last minute just didn't leave for the bus. :(

I'll give it another go next meeting.  By then I plan to be out to all of my family and most of my friends, so it's possible I might really need some support.

And sleepin' in the middle of a summer afternoon
Discord, whatever did we do
To make you take our world away?

Discord, are we your prey alone,
Or are we just a stepping stone for taking back the throne?
Discord, we won't take it anymore
So take your tyranny away!

I'm sorry you couldn't make it. I know how intimidating it can feel. I put off going for years because I was too nervous to go.

All I can say is that I regret putting it off for so long, it is really a great group of people there and I'm always looking forward to the next meeting.

We'll all be glad to see you there when you're ready to take that step.

Hi Zoe, aaah, it all makes sense with the avatar. That's a nice pic by the way! Yeah, that's a common sentiment that members of the group express - we're out looking for some community, some friends that understand.

Caysee, if the bus commute is stopping you (nerve racking!), a carpool might suit you better. I drive three empty seats with me from the NW.  ;D

i haven't had the strength to show up en femme, but i will still always make the meetings even if i have to go in boy mode, its all about just going as comfortable as you can at first,

caysee i think you should just come in boy mode just to see the meeting first hand and then you can make the leap to come dressed next time, if fear is stopping you from going just reduce the fear

Madison makes an excellent point. The members at New Directions come from a huge variety in terms of where they are in their transition and comfort level. On the same note it is also a very safe place to experiment with your presentation when you feel ready.

You are completely safe to set your own pace. There is no pressure for you to do anything that you are not comfortable with.

Also one common thing from what I've heard is that most if not all have some degree of fear the first few times they come.

Sadly I have been forced to delete all my posts due to my wife using them as a weapon against me in conflicts during our difficult separation. I will still be around on the site and available for private messages.

Yes Madison is a cute name. Like it a lot.

And thanks Alyssa! I want to get profile pic done. Got a date with a friend since her parents leave town to go all out. Not gonna lie a bit scared to go full out and do my eyebrows and all. You will all be the first to see it as I will probably upload it right away :)

Hmm it entails shaving my legs (maybe arms) doing my nails, eyebrows, the whole package. And try to come up with girl haircut for my hair.

Hi Keira Rosa,
Try to practice your new look a day or two before going to the event. Trying to experiment on your big day will make you nervous and if you screw something up, you'll have no backup plan. You don't want to be rushed when plucking your eyebrows, lol!

Hey Jessee i saw you posted on the gaming forum about elder scrolls online. Have you gotten it? I did. And felt the same way about the non linear exploration in skyrim. Clocked a lot of hours into skyrim.

So far teso did a good job for an mmo at rewarding exploration. But youre still kind of pigeon holed into linear questing. Mobs get hard and without a group they can be a pain. Saying that I was still able to solo my way into the third country skipping the first two so it is doable so explore

Hey Keira,
Not yet, I thought you needed an invite to get into the ESO beta?
I miss Elder Scrolls. Sigh, sometimes I feel like I could live in Skyrim, riding a horse through the marshes...

Nuts, took an arrow to the knee.  ::)
