Hi girls,

I'm now in recovery condition being 1 week postop and can't wait to leave my room for a walk in the vicinity. Just to exercise. I'm in room 306 at Dusit until the 24th so feel free to pop in for a chat. If the lamp glow red it's most likely Dil-time. Try later on. See ya.

Hi,

Had my tracheal shave today. Quite uncomfortable to say the least. The smell of burnt flesh in your nostrils luckily it was done in an hour. This op was supposed the be done at same time as my SRS but had to be postponed due to my health condition. I had high bloodpressure to my suprise but now it's back to normal again. Apart from that the only annoying thing left is, I'm spraying my pee over my whole bottom. Hopefully it will be ok once the swelling diminish. Dilating, you just have to get used to it...

Hi all
I was booked in with Dr Chet in Feb but for a number of reasons I had to postpone.  So now my date is April 2!  Flying over this Thursday!

Feeling a mix of excitment and terror and looking forward to getting it over with to be honest

Staying at the Princess Dusit.  Maybe see some of you there?

cheers
Sarah

I had SRS with Chet in February as well. I went to the Bangkok Rama because it was cheaper—at least $600 cheaper—than the Dusit. There were six or seven other Chet patients there in the back row of cottages when I arrived, but by the time I left there were only two others remaining! Are there really so few cheapskates like me opting for the Rama cottages? :P

(Incidentally, I found the Rama's cottages to be excellent for post-op recovery, since they have a lot of room, a kitchenette for cooking rather than ordering food every day, plus area outside that's relatively secluded.)

Unfortunately I'm going to have revision of my surgery on Thursday ~11:00 ICT (skin graft necrosis or sth. looks like pale white tissue, biggest spot found: rectangle 1 x 3 cm near the V opening at on one labias)

Revision seems major, since I'll be bed blinded for all 6 days (to day of my departure) so I will not be able to visit anybody, but You can call and visit if You wish.

XOXO, V

Hi,

Well then I'm back home again, jetlagged but ok. I had quite a bumpy ride on my first flight from Bangkok to Frankfurt and although I sat on my donut trying to relax I began bleeding. Not much but enough to make me nervous about stitches tearing apart. Now it eventually stopped and it looked ok so I calmed down. Luckily I had lots of sanitary pads in my handbag. I did send an email to the staff at the clinic just in case. Back home I started my dilation within an hour as the obedient girl I am, trained by Sri's hard regime. No, I really love the staff they're doing such a nice job and having lots of patience with with us "farang-girls". I took my team, Sri, Rose and Noi out for a dinner and some jummy seafood at a local restaurant the day before my departure. They working 6 days a week so they deserve all the appreciation they can get. This whole trip has been such a lifetime experience to me that I will never forget.

Good to hear everything is okay with You Monica.

And I'm waiting for the driver at the lobby, revision surgery in < 1 hrs, FC*K! And I'll again become disabled.

Ok, survived the revision, since it was first time i got a surgery in local I was terrified for whole 2 hrs, wasn't that bad, until they put the catheter in, ouch. But Faith(Rose) was so hilarious, so nice, all the time she talked to me "calm down", "You're a strong lady", and when they were putting the catheter in she was holding my hands and saying nice words to me, this helped a lot, after one month You really get into the point when You treat them as family.

Now ?I'm doped heavily on paracetamol, tramdol and a little of gin (I've found out on myself that very little dose of alcohol, removes the "mouth drynes" side effect from tramadol, I'm Polish so don't worry we are just born with bottle of vodka in hand).

UPDATE (~2,5 days from revision) 00:06 30/Mar/2014 ICT (UTC+7)

So it finally stopped hurting me like crazy since, Magical red pills were given to me and after taking them almost slept over last 36 hrs (pills appears to be strong psychoactive calm-down drug)

For now I can say revision seems to be successful, no more pale white dead skin, but it is stitched tightly (hurts while pushing over the muscle with mr1) but at least haven't lost any of my depth. (Catheter was removed today morning, so ~48 hrs from the surgery) No problems with pee pee at all.

Regards, V

Well I made the plunge and just paid deposit for July 28. However can anyone recommend the better hotel? My current preference is Rama Cottages as I like to cook for myself... but does this make sense for day 5 - 10? Can I take breakfasts / meals upon request?

The reason I ask is that I have intolerance to Dairy products and breads so most 'hotel continental breakfasts' dont work for me.

Thanks

The dusit actual can cater to dietary requirements, and they have a fridge and tea pot in the room as well which is good for tea or ramen. The hotel isn't like well if your from the USA it isn't like a days in, hotel 8 . Etc.  I had several alergies that they where aware of and made me breakfasts /meals that were ok with them

Dusit for one obvious reason, your are as close as 50 meter from the shoppingmall Seacon Square were you will find all the goods you need, clothes, restaurants, pharmacy, grocery. A good thing to do once you arrived is to buy lots of water, 15 liter or more, Tom-Yum soups and stuff because when you start the cleansing regime prior to operation and the healing days postop you will be confined to your bed and room. They charged me a total of 46719 Bahts for 1 month and that includes several visits to The Lounge Bar and the restaurant. Last but not least, the lovely poolarea. I got a nice tan. So Dusit it is.

Hello all
A quick note to say I am 4 days post op and still in the hospital.  I had the bandaging removed this afternoon and got my first look at what I called in my head 'the carcrash'.  What I saw was very swollen, red and inflamed but recognisably a vagina!  I had been curcumcised and required an additional skin graft but for all that the result even in its current form (it aint pretty!) is an amazing result.  They touched my clitoris with a cottom bud and I nearly hit the roof - not what I would call pleasant but proves I am sensate!

I have experienced a lot of pain that I have had to tough through till the next dose of painkillers but everyday is better and better

Tomorrow morning I go back to the hotel for the next stage of my recovery - my world has come down to small milestones!

Anyway, so far so good and I am very happy!

Oh, and a shout out to Veronique!  Sorry I didn't say a proper good bye.  Hope you got home ok! :)

Cheers
Sarah

I have experienced a lot of pain that I have had to tough through till the next dose of painkillers but everyday is better and better(...)

Sorry to hear that, so as I You are unlucky with the pain  :embarrassed:

When You'll be back to hotel to keep pain on managable level, maybe try my method:
Write down time of taking each and every tramadol and paracetamol pill, so You will be able to take next dose in such way it will hit You before last dose will go to 0%, so You will be almost constantly on mild/moderate but manegable pain level.

Sample times for me:
Tramadol starts to take effect 10-15 minutes from taking the pill, with full effect after 30 mins from taking, painkilling effect lasts for around 5 hours from taking the pill.
Paracetamol starts working around 40 minutes from taking the pill, and lasts similarly to 5-6 hrs from taking the pill.

So for first days in hotel if You feel bad to really bad I'd suggest:
2x paracetamol pill
1x tramadol pill (upgrade to 2 pills in case of severe pain)
each 4,5 hrs.

Maximum recommended intakes according to many publications I've read:
Paracetamol (short term <7 days treatment) 4-5 g /day (8-10 x 500 mg pill)
Paracetamol (long term treatment) 3 g /day (6 x 500 mg pill)
Tramadol, always try to stay below 400 mg/day (8 x 50 mg pill)

This should help You,

XOXO, Vero
