I posted this article on Clarksville Online this morning:

I look forward to seeing more people show their support for this much needed bill, which adds sexual orientation AND gender identity to hate crime laws.

hmmm....I would hope that the religious right really are that ignorant to the free speech aspect and would not be using it as an excuse to oppose violence against homosexuals and TGs being listed as hate crimes.
Nero was the Forum Admin here at Susan's Place for several years up to the time of his death.

David,

Thanks for putting out the real word and context of this bill.  I have been astonished at how certain radical extremist elements in our society can turn something so right into something so wrong, demeaning, and hurtful.

From someone who has been forced to write for print on occasion, my hat -er- bonnet's off to you!  Well written, and I can find 'ammunition' to use in arguments -- such as about how conservative members made statements in committee that allowed conservative groups to 'find' sinisterness in the bill.

I liked it!
