This may eventually be worth moving to the makeup forum, but that place is a ghost town, so I hope this thread can spend a bit of time in here first.

My stubble is the bane of my existance. How can I hide it without looking like a trolup?

Hair removal takes a long time. I need some tricks for now.

I use foundation and cover up, it really helps,I really need to start laser soon :(

Dermablend or tattoo cover seems to work for most.   I cannot recommend very aggressive electrolysis more highly though.

I've got very dark hairs and very fair skin, I hate my stubble and until laser has sapped them all here is what I do.

My routine involves:

0. Figure out your stubble colour, then buy a cheap lipstick to counter it. The rule is the darker the stubble the closer to deep red, the lighter the closer to orange, this also depends on your skin of course. Your foundation should match the colour of your wrist, the concealer should be one shade lighter.

1. Hot shower
2. Shave with the grain, Gillette 4 or 5 blade facial (men's) razor, rinse with cold water.
3. Moisturise, I like to use Aloe Vera gel, the green stuff, it's cheap and effective and has a cooling effect.
4. Shave a second time, this time at a 90 degree angle to the grain, rinse with cold water.
5. Moisturise using a proper moisturiser or apply makeup primer to your face.
6. Dot your beard area with the lipstick, not to much, not to little but remember that you can always add more later.
7. Blend out the lipstick over your beard area, you can use your fingers or a foundation sponge, just go easy and work with the grain. You should end up with a warm hue added to your beard area.
8. Apply liquid/gel foundation on your face, I like using sponges and dabbing to prevent mixing with the lipstick.
9. Apply concealer as needed to lighten up areas but remember that it also highlights the area by making it stand out more.

10. Be gorgeous

"Your foundation should match the colour of your wrist,"

I used to do this and could never work out why I looked like a zombie. Took me years to work out that my wrists are way lighter than my face.

Fortunately I have mostly light beard, but the darker hairs are still a pain even at stubble level. My cheeks and chin have been cleared using electro but still have mo and jawline and neck to go. I went to a place that sold make-up in dude mode and one days growth (not much), told them I needed something to cover it up and they did a great job of matching the right foundation to my skin tone and blends in naturally, lasts all day.

Interesting, I never thought about it but then again I never get a tan and I pretty much look like a zombie without makeup.

The topic has been pretty well covered.  I used to do something like what Antonia describes when I was going out, and it works!  I've been doing electrolysis for about seven months, and now only need to shave carefully and use a little liquid foundation and concealer in the morning.  Don't delay laser or electrolysis though.  I still can't stand to look in the mirror on the day I go in for treatment, and if I am honest about it, the amount of hair still there isn't that awful anymore.

Cheers,
Julie

Just one thing I'll comment on here.. If yuo are a person who suffers badly from razor burn or shaving rash, use a razor with less blades..
