Recently I've found these makeup tips to be helpful, so I thought I'd share them.
Have any of you found that your makeup never last the whole day. Here's something that I found that might help.
1.   After moisturizing, apply liquid foundation with a non-latex sponge {for blending well}. Be sure to cover your under eye area: not only will you need less concealer but the foundation will help eye makeup adhere to your skin.
2.   Apply a brightening concealer on any dark shadows you can still see under your eyes.
3.   With a large, fluffy brush, dust a sheer, translucent powder over your entire face, including your lids.
4.   Apply a touch of slightly shimmery highlighter {white, vanilla, champagne, or pale gold} under your brows, in the corners of your eyes, and on the tops of your cheekbones.
5.   Using feathery strokes fill in the brows with a brow pencil a shade lighter than your natural brow {or hair} color.
6.   Line your upper eyelash with a water-proof gel eyeliner.
7.   Apply a couple of coats of black mascara.
8.   Dust the apples of your cheeks with a powder blush {which lasts longer than a cream}.
9.   Apply a lip stain under your lipstick or gloss; the stain will tint your lips even if the other color wears off.

Those are good tips. My monthly makeup routine has turned into: has it been another month since I wore any makeup? Yes. I really should apply a moisturizer/sunscreen. Oh its raining; maybe tomorrow.

great tips Gina,
getting make up right is time consuming challenge, I am still trying to find the right colors to coordibate outfits and of course the time of day and activity. I am getting much better at throwing some mascarra on and running out the door and not worrying to much about the rest. hoping soon spring and summer will arrive and offer my poor pale skin some tone tehe.
it is so easy to over do make up and not have it look natural. i do agree about using a primer to make foundation stay longer and i do like how powder helps smooth oversome areas with heavier pores when used with a lite brush. should be fun to see how many people reply with other ideas and practices. at 50 something it takes a few minutes to do an afternoon outing if i want look top shelf but i am getting my prep time to around 30 minutes for hair and make up, so I can live with that I guess.

take care sister

Thank you Gina,
I am still learning the makeup thing... I have to laugh as there are moment when I look like someone put a coloring book and my face and turn a five year old lose... But it's a practice thing I guess and I'll get better.... Right now I am sticking to mascara but I have been told buy many women over the years I have lashes they would die for that are natural. Sitll working on the foundation and blush and other stuff.

Thanks for the nice compliment.

Following the steps that I've outlined, it usually takes me a half hour to do my make up. Sometimes I alternate with colors, but I keep it pretty simple. Y'know Jerri, most times you can get away with a  light foundation, a little blush some eye shadow and some lipstick just to give your face some color and out you go.  :) Keep up the good work Veronica. Sounds to me like you're doing the right thing.  :) Hey Madeline, like my mom would always say, never put off for tomorrow what can be done for today.  Just start off with some eye-shadow, blush and lipstick and gradually work your way from there and you'll see how things develop.  :)

Nowadays I avoid foundation and powder, as they occasionally cause acne in my face.

I clean my face with foam cleanser and toner before and after sleeping.

When applying cream or foundation, do not rub, but tap with your palms until it is completely absorbed into the skin.

barbie~~
Just do it.
