  Hello ,

I hope I will have FFS in Peru , at Femilife very soon . Unfortunately I don't have the information you need at the moment , hopefully I will have surgery on April 29th , and then I will try to write some details as it seems there is very little information about them .
You may find some details on the FFS-support group on Yahoo and on Carol ' s blog .

Like Fabrizia , I am interested in hearing about other girls' experiences with Femilife (although I am set with them :) ) , also some advices and maybe even will be someone there in the same period with me .

I wish you all good luck finding the clinic that will set you free and happy .

Wow  :o , that was scary , until now I heard both good and bad things about Femilife , but it seems that this post is quite negative about them . Though , my main concern would be the surgery itself and not that much the  ' post-op care ' - as the personal behavior or luxury of the clinc / appartment .
Beside , my budget is quite low , so , although it doesn't sound that good , I prefer to do it now with them than waiting for many years before doing it with a more famous surgeon ( who could make mistakes anyway ) . I just don't have any expectations to get rich soon and I need to be at least a little more passable to really start my life . Right now I am unable to live socially , I can't have a job and I hate going out , I stay inside for days in a row .
Also , I guess it is about the pre-op looks and expectations one has . If you are really feminine and beautiful to start with , it is possible that the expectations will be to get to a supermodel level and the level of disappointment to be quite big after the surgery .
Like the girl in the topic said , maybe Dr Pimentel wasn't that used with Asian faces , and sometime I think the same about the possibility of having surgery in Asia . I was always attracted by the latin world , and It would be nice to get a ' latina ' look :) . Not to mention that for going in Asia I would've need more money and also a visa for getting into the country .

Claudia, don't do the same mistake as I did thinking that I would get a female face cheaper. I agree totally with what Lexi and Maria Christina, Stay away from Femilife. I thought I would save money but it will cost me even more now to repair everything they did. I saw 2 surgeons and they said that everything they done especially the nose was done so wrong. Even the surgery room at the hospital was scary.

Anyway it's your decision but take our advice. The only thing good about Lima was Machu Pichu and Larcomar the shopping mall, that's it.

  Hi ,

Thank you for your advice , I guess I will re-think it .
The sad part is that , as I said , I really won't have any more money soon , I don't even work at the moment and I don't want to get hired again being considered a ' boy ' . For me it is not about saving money , it is the only money I have and it is such a sad thought to try and save money for many years to come until I will afford FFS with another surgeon .
I just don't know what to do , the only two options were Femilife and Dr Cardenas , and both seem to have some controversial reputations  , beside , I didn't even get a response from Dr Cardenas yet . One thing I was sure about with Dr Cardenas and his wife is that I love their nose results .
I considered Dr Bart in Europe initially , but I would only afford to do the Forehead Reconstruction and Rhinoplasty with the money I was supposed to use in Peru for Full FFS .
Could you please tell me a little more about what they did wrong in Peru ? Is it unaesthetic or did you have some health related / recovery issues after surgery ?
I heard before that Dr Pimentel is quite good with Forehead bone work .

Thank you again for your advices , I just hope I will make the right thing in the end .

I have some knowledge in Latin American countries, I have been to Central Mexico (much nicer than the horrible border towns like TJ) and I have met and spoken to Peruvian people, of the two, and please please I feel horrible for generalizing, but I don't know, Peruvian people seem really, I don't know, just not in this century,  If I had no choice I would much rather go to Mexico instead, there will be good food for sure at least. It may be that they haven't gotten back to you quick due to translation issues.
I read the letter for the person above and femilife don't even seem to be able to translate a letter properly!...

I am with you on the money situation, it still seems so slow, I am most likely gonna end up going to Dr. Bart unless I win at the scratch cards haha then I would see Mr Musgrove here in Manchester area..lol. I did my research on femilife and dr Cardenas, Dr. Bart, and the facial team, the US ones also, only ones I haven't really considered is Asia and Marcelo DiMaggio, they're just too far from Britain, as of now the only ones still in my list are Dr. Bart, Mr Musgrove and Facial team, the US ones' before and after pics aren't as good as Dr. Bart's or the Facial team. I can't find any before and after's for Musgrove! US surgeons seem overpriced for the work they are doing so they are not in my list at all. Dr Bart is still on top for me. I know it's a really tough decision but have you thought of getting it done in stages? Maybe get the most dramatic parts done first then you can save for a couple of years for the rest? That way you would be comfortable enough to find work as a female? Phase u been on HRT for a while? X

The results were unaesthetic. On the positive side of it, never had any heath issues postop. Everything came back to normal quite fast.

here's the negative;
first, not being able to talk directly to Dr Pimentel was a pain, always have to go through Nikky to get your questions answered by the doctor or schedule a consult with him. Plus Nikky knows around 40% english so to try and get the message to the doctor, its even harder getting it through to her.

Second, both hospitals where I was in especially the second one was so old that it was a bit scary, especially the operating room, not too clean.

Third, the results were less than impressive. Not agresive enough and not done well. The post op care was not very good.
After consulting a few other surgeons post op, they confirmed my doubts about the results. The only thing that was impressive was the forehead remodeling.

Fourth, the apartment she rents are not too clean, I had to go buy some cleaning stuff and do a thorough cleaning of it.

here's the positive
1) like I said forehead remodeling was flawless, that's the only thing, he is the master at that
2)food was good
3)if it's summer, than you get a holiday in the warm weather
4)if you have time, there is a lot of tourist attraction i.e. Larcomar
5)Dr Pimentel was very nice, Nikky could take some lessons of mannerism from Dr Pimentel; maybe it's the language barrier
6)the driver that picks you up from the airport and back was very reliable

hope this helps

  Hello ,

Thank you for your kind reply , it helped me to understand better the problems you had with them .
I am sorry that you were not pleased with their entire work and I hope you will get everything the way you want :) .
I noticed some of that issues so far , like not being able to talk directly with Doctor Pimentel , but I trust the girls ( including you now ) who say that he does good forehead work , and I saw some nose results that I liked too .
I am a little worried about my chin , because I need some aggressive work to be done there . I will try to ask him , when we will talk directly , to do so . I heard before that some surgeons may accept your request and go deeper , not necessary having just a conservative or aggressive style in every surgery .

Thank you again for your message , somehow it makes me a little less worried than the first ones I read . I don't know , right now I feel that I could get over some of the clinic's issues . Maybe it is just the rush to get it done and the hope to ' pass ' after it  .

  I wish you a great day ,
        Claudia

I have no opinion either way on Femilife.  But my experience is that Mexico and Argentina tend to be more modern/advanced than the rest of Latin America (I grew up in Southern Mexico).  It's mostly a socioeconomic issue.

Cardenas girls seem to be pretty happy with the results.  I'm considering going to him as well.

Hi Claudia, one last thing, I would not consider him for nose, my nose needs extensive revisions now. The only thing I would do if I were you, is the forehead remodeling that's it.
