How far can I take my eyebrows? Hehe...

So I came out to myself a few weeks back, and slowly I've been feminizing my appearance and becoming more comfortable in my skin. I don't want to 'alert' people to it too much though, but at the same time, the more feminine I look, the more my dysphoria subsides. Anyway, a very big masculine marker on my face are my insanely huge eyebrows.

So here is me while still in denial...

Here is me after two sessions of thinning and pruning my eyebrows over the weeks, while trying to keep them masculine.

My question is, how much further do you think I can go before people would be like YOUR EYEBROWS ARE GIRLY. Do you think I could get away with thinner from the top? Could I prune a little more from the bottom to accentuate the arc? Sorry about the bad lighting, I could try and take a few more if it'd help >_<

Go to a professional eyebrow place and ask for a shape and trim. Otherwise you can bugga them up. -as I did-

I've always been a little weird about going into beauty salons, I suppose I'll have to get over that now that I want to begin transitioning. I was just thinking about bringing it down by 3 or so hairs from the top, to make it thinner, but maybe it would be better to get it professionally done. Is it expensive?

Nah, less than $40. First thing in this journey, if you can, get over being embarrassed, it is what it is. The first time you are in the stirrups you get over it. All women do.

Lol!  Alright, thanks. That's cheap, but I think i'll invest first in some laser on the face and neck, so I feel like I'm making progress, and maybe just thin the eyebrows out a tad without changing their shape manually. At least that way they won't look messed up, just thinner.

You have a great face, BTW.  ;D  I've shaped my eyebrows since I was a teen (long time ago). I am meticulous in keeping them neat, even in my own denial days. Like I said before, I've only had a few keen females question me on if I do pluck. Usually I play it off or tell them "enough to not be messy". Once I'm full time, they are getting plucked even more.

Now that I've had a few years of HRT and electrolysis and wear earrings, some people really can't figure me out.  ;)
"There was a sculptor, and he found this stone, a special stone. He dragged it home and he worked on it for months, until he finally finished. When he was ready he showed it to his friends and they said he had created a great statue. And the sculptor said he hadn't created anything, the statue was always there, he just cleared away the small peices." Rambo III

I was able to get mine "adjusted" a bit at the same place I went for my hair, coloring and trims.. I came out to two of the girls there and they've been very nice to me..  Amanda did my original coloring, from brunette to a kinda stark blonde, and Brittany fixed it to more layered streaked blonde/brunette.. So I decided to see what they could do for the brows.. now, mine were thinning at the tips, but I had several hairs that made Charles Manson look like his were shaved off.. reminded me of Indiana Jones bullwhip, always going out..  Amanda did a bit a hot-wax (Oooooooooooooooccchhh!!!), thinned out the brows with just a light arch to them, still male-passable..  and charged just $10.  I gave her $10 for the tip too, she said it was too much, but I replied, her helping me with this, was worth it.  I have been going to Cost Cutters for several years, so I was a regular there, just sorta new to these two.. The brows will grow back in a while, and Amanda will be able to arch them a tad bit more..  baby steps.. baby steps..

If I had brows like Leonid Breznev, I'd probably go back over a period of 4-8 weeks, just to get them thinned at a slower pace so as to not really be noticeable.

I have been slowly doing my eyebrows also... Started out with this awful uni-brow... (serious ewwwww!) It's funny the things that once you start to transition become a big deal that were never an issue or even considered before. Think I may have to try the salon thing as I have proceeded with caution up till now so not to mess them up.

I just have one suggestion if you go to a salon to have your eyebrows plucked... Make sure you like the way her eyebrows look ;)
