    Hello ,

I am going thru a very difficult period for about four-five months now and , for me , the worst part of all is that the stress and depression is really affecting my health , especially my hair . I am currently loosing more and more hair , and not in a natural way  , but as a  ' telogen effluvium ' as they call it .
This really affects me a lot as for me the hair was the thing I loved the most in a female body , and I was focusing the most on growing it .
Even worse , although I could try some methods to get out of this depression ( until worrying about hair loss , I was ok with it , crying every day for hours and stuff ) , but a major stress is coming from the seeing of the hair falling in such extreme way . So the problem fuel itself in a way . Beside the usual depression they were a few huge emotional shocks too , some really recent , and by what they say , it is possible that I didn't even saw the full scale of the damage done .
Sometimes I want to die so bad , I just don't want to wait for a year or more until the problem stops and then four-five years for the hair to grow back .

I visited a doctor and she prescribed me some medication , but I am not sure it will help . Because I didn't have my name changed yet and I don't pass that well , she most likely didn't know exactly 'what I am ' , so she gave me a Minoxidil supplement . Later I saw that it is useful mostly on androgen related alopecia , but I am currently on HRT so I hope I don't have much testosterone left , and even less DHT  .
Also , she prescribed me a specially designed vitamins , iron and sulfur amino acids supplement , but I was already had a multivitamin and mineral one . Also , I am living a quite healthy lifestyle and I don't have any disease , so I don't think nutrition or some kind of disease/poisoning  plays a huge role neither in losing hair nor in regaining it .
Lastly , she prescribed some kind of relaxing drug , because I told her that I suspect the stress being the main cause .

Beside that , I am using a lot of hair masks , conditioners and all kind of oils for massaging my scalp , although , they can't really help when the problem is internal .

My main concern are the thyroidal hormones , as they affect the hair most , and they are affected by stress and depression  the most .  Even worse , they were some thyroidal diseases in my family , so I am even more worried about .

Hopefully I will get FFS by the end of the month , and that is a huge reason to be happy , but on the other hand the surgery will be itself another huge trauma on the body , with hair loss as a side effect from direct incision and overall trauma . The interruption of my HRT won't help for sure , creating a hormonal imbalance and shock .

So , after this long story ( I am sorry , but I needed to let it out , it is killing me inside and I don't have many real life friends to talk with ) I am interested if any of you girls have experienced something similary , and what did you do , how did you cope with it , what was the best way to treat it ?
Sometime I can see the happy life as my transition progressed quite a bit but other times it seems that I make one step forward and two backwards .
