i've been wondering this, since i'm quite large in the front. i don't know what my bra size would be in that ABCD system cos that's not how bras are sized here (not that i know how they are sized here either, i just went from the smallest size upwards as i grew) but it measured- as i measured it specially for this post fighting dysphoria- 37 inches around the peak and 31 below the bulks. i understand that a binder doesn't make you completely flat, but is it possible for a binder to bind a size like me convincingly? how effective would it be? also, can a binder flatten a chest more than you can flatten by pressing with your hands?

I don't think that any of us can tell you what it might do to your chest specifically as we have nothing to go on.  With the measurements you gave, it's possible to flatten it out by at least a couple of inches.  However, it really depends on a number of things - how big your actual moobs are (how much flesh there is to flatten), how broad or skinny you are, etc.

If you have a lot of flesh there, it will be obviously harder to flatten out.  It can be done convincingly, even with enormous chests - it's also a matter of choosing clothing that will not be tight against the chest, too.  Sometimes larger guys will have a "lump" in the center which is the flesh being squished into a monomoob basically.  Regardless, it's impossible to tell most of the time if you choose the wardrobe correctly.

As to whether a binder can squish you as flat as you can squish yourself with your hands - again, it depends on the amount of flesh and the binder you're looking at.

I've actually been looking at binders a lot lately. They come mostly in Asian sizes on Amazon (There is at least two sizes difference between American and Asian) and the one my SO is offering to get me has measurements to help you find the size that will fit you. Basically just measure your bust and under bust keep them handy when searching for one.

This video might be helpful. The person in the video does have a large chest, so it gives some idea what an Underworks 997 can do at least, and the technique helps avoid that "uniboob" look.

thanks for replying guys. sorry for taking so long, i actually forgot i made such a post. i'll certainly watch the video once i get a chance to get online through the computer, my phone doesn't support videos. not that i'll be buying a binder anywhere near, i was just curious and afraid that binders wouldn't work for me. in case the information is useful, my body is quite average, a teeny bit inclined towards fatter side. i have a significant amount of belly fat compared to the rest of my body.
