My partner and I might be back together, and they've told me their chosen name.

When I first met them they introduced themself as Paytn. As I got to know them, they shared stories of horribly abusive previous partners, and that contributed in part the the anxiety they had about our relationship. We're starting over, slower this time, and they've given me their real name: Paul.

I'm hopeful, but cautious.

Paul has various physical health and mental health issues, and that does make this a challenge. But the fact that we're getting better at communicating with each other will hopefully help.

A friend of mine loaned me a book called Stop Walking on Eggshells and it's for people in relationships with persons who have borderline personalirty disorder. While Paul doesn't have BPD, there is good information in that book that I seem to be able to apply to our relationship.

So, yeah, I am trying to take care of myself in this too.
