So from what I understand, sublingual means under the tongue? I've also researched that it is more effective as it bypasses the liver. So I'm wondering if this is the pill that I can put under the tongue or was there another type of pill?

You can take it either way (assuming your E is a micronized form) so swallowing it isn't 'wrong' per se, it's just less effective. Taking your E sublingually is more effective since it goes directly into your bloodstream bypassing the liver and the complications that can be caused when the liver processes hormones.

I don't know what micronized means but it's the circular, little, blue-green hard tablets with watson 488 imprinted on it that becomes powdery when I do it sublingually

Would breaking the pills into 1mg quantities and taking them sublingually throughout the day be better than just taking all the prescribed amount at once?

Sublingually, levels tend to rise and fall quite quickly so that it's usually advised to take it several times daily.

I am also taking estradiol sublingually. The Watson brand dissolves very fast and in 10 minutes I feel no tablet residue under my tongue.

The medical literature reports that taking estradiol sublingual as opposed to oral use is up to 20 times more effective in absorption in to the blood stream. The down side is that in 8 to 12 hours, you are back to normal blood levels.
