Hi fellas, yah so title says it all, I need a good family doctor for T prescription. Any input? recomendations for me? thanks in advance

Hi Whynaut, are you in Portland? My case is quite problematic, I had started T and dont want to go back to the doctor I had before. Now I need a new prescription but I dont want to do lab tests all over again, the clinic sounds good, never knew we had one of these in Oregon! Can the clinic write you the DMV letter though?

I'm not sure about DMV. All I have read says that DMV wants a letter from a therapist, so an MD wouldn't be able to write that either. That doesn't sound true to me, so I'm just going to see when I get there. I'm getting a court order name and sex change from Multnomah county first and, yes, my ND did write me a letter for that.

You should be able to tell your new doctor where you previously had labs done and they can call to have the results sent over. As long as it was within a year, or whatever timeline the doctor finds appropriate.

I think an MD can write the letter, the doctor I saw wants to charge me though

My name/sex marker change hearing is on May 2nd, so I can let you know. In general, MDs and NDs should have the same capabilities as far as that sort of thing goes. But there are plenty other MDs if you would like one. You could probably also see a NP.

whynaut: Im confused about all the paperwork stuff, you need to go to court for a name change right? what paperwork does that include if you dont mind me asking (birth certificate, social security, etc.) From what I heard you need to go to the DMV to have your ID changed seperately from going to the court right?

Yeah, the DMV is separate from the court ordered name change. If you live in Multnomah County, go to the courthouse in downtown Portland and go to the family law office in room 211 and ask for a name and sex change form. The people working there are really helpful and they'll walk you through the steps. You have to post your name change in the office for 14 days and then have a hearing before a judge where they will sign your paperwork. The first day you go down there, all you need is ID (passport or license). To change your gender marker you will need "proof" of medical sex change. My doctor wrote me a letter for name and sex saying I have undergone adequate treatment to transition to male.

It's $111 to file the forms and $5 per official copy you want.

I just talked on the phone with NCNM clinic, unfortunately most of their patients who have Blue cross&shield have to pay out of pocket, because their insurance doesnt cover naturopath
