Not sure if anyone noticed, but Reelmagik has updated their Basic Packer! They look pretty good I ordered a Basic Packer from them on April 9 and at the time the site was still showing the "old one". I didn't even know they were creating this newer one. I probably wont get mine in the mail until Tuesday, and now I'm unsure as to whether they would have given me the old one or the new one. Either way, I don't mind at all! But if I do end up getting the new one, I can put up some pictures.

They looked definitely improved, harlee.  The colors look much more realistic.  I hope you get the new one. 

I'm still waiting for the "right" packer for me to come out.  I am waiting on a review as to whether or not the Emisil adheres.  I want a 3.5 shaft, which the Emisil has.

The biggest problem for me with the RM, however, is that it is way too heavy for me.  There isn't a heavier packer out there.  If you don't mind the weight or the larger size of the RM, you will be very pleased (texture, looks, are good).

I agree on the weight. This is one heavy boy!!! I agree that it looks new and improved! The colors look a lot more natural. I'd be curious re: what our brothers of color might say about these, as I just think the colors look good.

I've been trying to pick what will be my next packer, and with how much nicer this looks now, my decision is made! I still need to save for it, but that's definitely going to be worth it.

The new colors look great! I just ordered one and can't wait for it to get here.
