Hi All

I recently discovered that I have elevated prolactin levels. The normal range is 2-18 ug/L but mine was found to be 33 ug/L. My Endo prescribes cabergoline which does reduce it to normal levels. I know that HRT can elevate prolactin levels and Doctors warn against HRT for that reason.

I am concerned that I may not be eligible for HRT because of the elevated levels found. Can a girl get on HRT if she has had a history of high prolactin levels ?

my levels where normal untill HRT and then they jumped and I lactate, its a rare side effect that if monitored posses little threat to you. Yea you can get on HRT, unless your doctor is overly conservative.

Thank you Teela,

I guess being monitored is a good compromise, I just needed a little reassurance.
