Just was wondering, if you start T at a younger age do you change more than if you were to start later? Im talking about starting as a mid teen or starting as a young twenty something. Would you get more growth downstairs? Or have a deeper voice? Or is there really no difference?

I don't think there is any difference, unless you started before you hit your puberty (chest growth & shark week).
Started Testosterone: 2013
Top surgery: 2014
Bottom surgery: 2016

I don't think there is any difference either, except if you start before puberty, if you start before puberty, then you can grow a bit taller, and would't get boobs

Yes there are, and based on my personal experience with young FtMs, the changes can be very significant, however, it depends on your body. If you start before or during puberty ((About ages 11-16 for most genetic females)) There is a good chance your chest/ribs and shoulders (The actual bone)) may widen, whereas for an older transguy, the same may not happen, ((Your bones stop growing significantly sometime near the end of puberty.)) The voice changes can also be significant, usually if you start during puberty, it's easier for your body to adjust to having a deeper voice ((Since that's about the time it happens for a genetic male)) If you start around puberty, the only changes that will be different than if you start older will be in the bones and -possibly- voice. It depends on genetics and timing. This is not including the changes that could be prevented ((eg. breast growth, hip widening)) because these are only avoidable before puberty has started. I think after 18 the significant changes will basically be up to genetics, but that doesn't include bone growth. As for downstairs growth, that's all up to genetics. However, all other changes ((Muscle growth, fat redistribution, lower voice, hair growth)) will happen at any age. Ask your endo or doctor for more info, this is just from what my own doc has told me and mostly my experience with other young FtMs on T.

I believe some of the changes are genetic, as was stated. I have an acquaintance and he felt facial changes didn't happen to older guys. I certainly did not experience that-- lots of facial changes. I believe many of the changes for younger guys might be things like actual bone growth, provided they start early enough. OTOH, I got some semblance of a beard MUCH faster and know a lot of older guys getting staches and little goatees within a year. NOt that this never happens in younger guys, but it is MUCH more common in older guys, ime.

The younger guys seem to be able to develop much deeper voices IMHO.  I don't know if it's just that I've seen more of them on YouTube than older guys - but that's what it seems like to me.

I think, as has already been said, it depends on genetics and how old you are starting T.  If you interrupt your biological puberty early enough, you may have some pretty significant changes.  Then again, there are plenty of guys who have pretty significant changes who didn't start T until well after puberty - so go figure.

I don't think so. But I seemed to maybe have a bit more trouble with my voice than the young guys had, and then I found out I also have GERD. But I went from alto to baritone. I do know of guys who had trouble with it so I am thinking it's genetic.

I think majority of changes depends on your health and genetics, but not really age once you've hit female puberty.

I've watched several different transition videos of guys in my age group (18-22) and they all had different changes. I'm nineteen years old and already I'm experiencing quick changes on testosterone, after only being on it for a week and a half that some transmen don't experience for a few months into the process. Fortunately for me, my growth plates haven't fused yet due to having poor nutrition growing up from having a poor family. That doesn't mean you should starve yourself, please don't do that. Now that I'm healthier by eating three meals a day and taking vitamins, so I'm growing taller. Just as cis-men to be early or late bloomers, I think it's the same for transmen.

Although I wish I had started transition when I was fifteen years old like I wanted, there wouldn't have been much difference. It's not going to make you pass any less or better. It takes time to become stealth, but I'll get there eventually. :)
