Sorry, this topic is a little painful for me to write and admit, but I need some help. I've been on testosterone for a little over a week now, but shark week happened on the day of my second injection (last Friday).

The first and second day was worse than usual in both pain and amount, then it stopped entirely on the third day (which isn't unusual since this happens every time) and it came back today (not a lot). Since yesterday, there's been a very painful dry/itching/burning sensation downstairs. My penis hurts and keeps twitching and below feels uncomfortably dry and itchy. I've put unscented lube on it with the help of my girlfriend (I can't touch or look at it myself), but it only eases the pain for a few minutes.

I don't know guys, it feels really horrible. Is this a normal effect from testosterone? Are my hormones clashing together and causing this? Please help. :-\

I never had pain like what you are describing. Dryness is something that some guys deal with (I had the opposite effect) but I've never heard of it being that bad. You may want to talk to your doctor.

agree, most guys seem to just experience discomfort on their penis, from it growing from under the protective hood and becoming more exposed to chaffing

I too would talk with a doctor. The one time I experienced something like that it had nothing to do with the T, though the change in hormonal balance could have contributed. Pester the doctor, it's what they're there for. :)

Any discharge?  Sounds like an infection to me personally - but your doctor will be able to tell you what's going on.  What do you mean your penis is "twitching"???  That's a new one for me.

Going to chime in as well with the dr suggestion. That doesn't sound normal at all. At most you'd possibly feel discomfort and really sensitive but the itching/dryness is uncommon.
I run a FtM blog where I pour my experiences out for others to read. Check it out!

Honestly, I've had similar experiences. It still happens to this day. It gets sore, but not from chaffing, I thought it was due to it actually growing. I've researched when cis-males go into puberty, even they experience some soreness & pain due to growth. Even so, does sound like yours is a bit more extreme, irritation, itching and all that is not a normal occurence! Really, better to be safe than sorry and definitely mention it to your endo, perhaps. Sorry to hear you are having a bad experience!
Er... what I have been doing is using a paper towel that is rolled up, oiled with some of the massage oil from Indigo Wild mixed with the zum rub, lol, and/or some personal lubricant to help keep it kinda moisturized (all that stuff is natural, no chemicals). It's a process, but it has been helping me at least! Keeps it from chaffing and kinda doubles with the "packing" process. (and it smells great? lol) :P Have noticed extreme dryness after a few months, along with the "cycle" stopping, everything else seems to stop, too.

Thanks for all the replies, guys! I'm starting to think that it might be a cyst below which is causing the itchy/dry pain. The pain in my penis could be from growing. It doesn't hurt as bad as yesterday and it stopped "twitching" as much as before but it's significantly bigger almost overnight which is crazy. I'll talk to my doctor about the lower pain tonight. I'm hoping it goes away before I would have to get it physically checked out.  :-\

Let us know what you find out, Sir John Tristan, could be one of many things. Have you gotten sufficient growth that it is getting rubbed easily when you walk?

A little bit, it's beginning to protrude and I feel it rubbing against the front of my boxers occasionally (especially when I'm hard). Luckily for me, I was already pretty big down there without the testosterone, so I think that explains the twitching and pain if it was growing more. It makes me wonder what my results will be in a few months and after I start DHT.

I'll let you all know what the doctor says. About an hour ago, the pain started coming back below (not my penis, that feels normal again). My girlfriend took a look at it and said it looked swollen, I'm really not excited about this. My biggest fear is going to a gynecologist...

I had what seems to be exactly what you are describing but it was before T. For a year and a half on and off I got debilitating pain down there. To the point where I would go to the bathroom multiple times a day to soak it in water. The doctors said the were pretty sure it was hormonal imbalance. When I started testosterone it went away and hasn't returned since. So maybe in your case it is just your body responding to the new balance of hormones. I do agree with others that you should see a doctor if you are able but I definitely empathize with you.
