Let me start off by introducing myself. I am Sarah Beth 30 F from London, I went to Suporn last November for surgery
I have been living full time for a little over 3 years now and been on hormones for about 2 years.

Hi Sarah Beth,

Big congrats on your surgery! I'm also UK-based...near Birmingham and wanting to have SRS in the coming year or so. I've got my shortlist down to Dr. Suporn and Dr. Brassard.

As you're here and offering to answer questions, I thought I'd start off by asking purely about aesthetics. Are the aesthetics what you expected/hoped for? Are the scars from the incision fading nicely..to the point that you think they will be unnoticeable one day, even if fully shaved and with no hair to cover them?

I am pleased with the aesthetics so far. I am still a bit swollen 5 months on after surgery. The scar lines for me where done in such a way that I hardly notice them

This photo was taken 2 weeks after surgery

two weeks after surgery with legs spread wide you can notice the scars, now I and I cant see any scars.

I personally seen Suporn results several years after surgery and I am happy with the aesthetics, based on that, that is why I choose Suporn.

Wow, thanks for that photo...didn't even ask for one and you offer it up like that..even though I've struggled to get anyone to send me post-op photos so thank you!!

Considering that's just 2 weeks after surgery, I think that looks like an amazing result. The scar line visible there also looks incredible considering it was so soon in recovery. Really glad your pleased with the result -as I would be going by that! Btw, if you ever fancied sending any more photos you've taken since that, feel free to IM me...I'd love to see more..only if you're comfortable with that of course and don't worry if you're not.

Also can I ask, did you have friends that had been to Suporn several years before and get a chance to see their results up close, I'm assuming? I wish I knew some girls who I could meet up with...maybe I'll track some down willing to meet up with me. I'm based near Birmingham in England in case anyone else is reading

How has your dilation been going? Is it getting more difficult around now (As many Suporn women claim...as it's now the period, 4 or 5 months on, that scar contraction is at its strongest)? And sensation OK?

Ooops, just realised you mentioned about the links to your blog...will take a look at that..you may well have answered some of the above there!

I know a girl who kindly showed me her result and it was a good result. I have two post on my blog of photos, If I took some more photos now I would have to shave down there and at the moment that's not a good idea. When I can I will add pics to my blog..

I am from London UK btw.

I am curious to know about whether or not the testis still remain as I am considering Suporn. I am looking forward to you posting more pictures.

I believe it still remains as I still have above normal levels of testosterone for a post op girl.
Suporn and Sophie assured me it wasn't going to be a problem, yet they failed to deal with my missing testis.

They should remove the testis during the surgery, I have heard of special requests but it is not a standard option, if you have higher then the norm t levels you may want your endo to check your thyroid, as it's not been unheard of following surgery for it to go into overdrive, which can become a serious problem once it burns out.

In the event it helps, the testi's are in fact removed by Dr. Suporn as I myself just had it done back on Aug 25th (can even request them preserved and frozen amusingly enough). If you've only been on hormones for a short term... year or so - it is often recommended to continue anti-androgens post-op for  a while longer and slowly wean off of them. The reason behind that is the sudden shock to the body can cause it to find any means possible to  produce testosterone despite the loss of the main sources. Let me quote from the post-op care booklet we were provided word for word.

Antiandrogens
"in most cases, post-operatively there is no need to continue anti-androgens post-operatively. However, in some cases (about 5-10%) patients find that unwanted male characteristics can return immediately post-operative. This is more common for those patients who took anti-androgens for only a relatively short period of time pre-operatively. It occurs because immediately post-operative the adrenal system detects an abnormal loss of testosterone. It thus produces as much as it can by any means - which of course introduces unwanted effects.

The solution is simple start taking anti-androgens again at the same rate as one was taking pre-operatively for at least 3 months, and then gradually and steadily reduce the dosage of anti-androgen until at 12 months post-operatively the dosage can stop. This gives the body's adrenal system to adjust slowly to the changes, until at 12 months it can quite happily sustain a very low testosterone level."

I am still unsure about my testiscles, I had an undescended testicle from childhood which he couldn't locate, it may be there or it may never have been either way my T levels are just right.

I must rearrange my blog sometime so the useful info is indexed. Now iv moved it away from blogger it should easier.
