Sunya

Hello,

I'm terrible at introductions so I'm going to keep this short. I am 31 and MtF. I've been on and off hormones since I was 19 without a doctor's supervision. I know, it's the cardinal rule to seek out a doctor. Without a doctor you won't get the medications/operations/support required to be successful, and maybe you're right. I've been on and off of hormones for a decade, and would of had this done if I had been seeing a doctor. Point taken, don't bother telling me. Without getting political I would very clearly like to state that I/we need NO ONE's permission to change ourselves, right or wrong this is personal. If someone feels the need to see a doctor than they should, but it is unacceptable to treat adults like children and I will not tolerate it.

I'm here because I'm going to finish this. I started this when I was a child and it has tortured me my entire life. I hate it. I hate myself for being this way, but this is who I am and there is no hiding from it. It's not like my life is empty, in fact I have my dream: I have a husband who has stood with me for 11 years, a daughter whom I take care of full time, two dogs, hobbies and passions. It may sound perfect but it's not, we fight constantly to keep what we have; the wolves are always circling so to speak, but struggle keeps us healthy and at the end of the day we always seem to pull through. And I will pull through this too.

The secret of life is that when you figure it out you have no time to act on it.

I hope that being here can give me some perspective, I never seem to have enough. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all better, and hopefully myself too. This next year is going to be a long one. I'll see you all around the forums.
