So yesterday, I went to my therapist.  It all went well as usual, still stuck in the closet but she's a great help.  Anyway, when setting up my latest appointment I put my male name on the email.  When she responded she used my female name.  I was sort of curious to know why she did it.  So she tells me that she doesn't think of me as a male, I have too many female traits.  She also commented that I have a lot of guilt and empathy, something she thinks is very feminine.

I was a little shocked by this being a 51 year old balding type.  I didn't think I was that obvious, but she's the gender therapist. :)  I think I glowed for a while after those comments.   I wanted to give her a great big hug. :)

Sorry I missed your post yesterday. You're right very similar stories.  Quite the coincidence :)

To be accepted and recognized by someone you trust and respect as who you truly are is a gift of joy.  Sometimes it takes this sort of thing to light the closet and reveal its limitations.

Good luck with the door and hugs,
Julie
