Lara the Lover and the Fighter

I've been doing this each month and its been really helpful to me.  I hope it has been to some of you as well!

The same crappy music has been playing in my head, basically my entire life.  Born male but female on the inside.  Over and over and over again the same thing.  Why do I have to have this body??  OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN!  Why do people keep giving me those looks??? AARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!

*In an attempt to not break any of the laws here on Susan's, I will keep this clean.  I don't use "swear words" but sometimes I feel its necessary.*

Please mark your calendars for: Transgender Fudge it month

Or

TFIM

Lately I have been looking in the mirror and saying the simple words (edited here for tv) "FUDGE IT!"

I am me.  Sure my body does fit me perfectly but "fudge it!"  Sure people keep looking at me as if I am a science experiment but......"FUDGE IT!!"  I am me and I am beautiful.

It reminds me of this song by a dude that lived in the garbage can called Stinky.  Stinky gave up on all that crap a long time ago and now he is happy.  He found his home in a garbage can.  He was quoted as saying "No mansion for me....fudge it.  No new Humvee for me.....fudge it!"  (I can send you the link to his true to life story if you want.  Stinky curses a lot!!)  Now I'm not suggesting that we live in a garbage can but you get the idea right?

Please gals and guys, it always helps me to hear that I am not alone in this stuff.  Let me know what you say fudge it about.  If you don't say fudge it about anything, then maybe think of something new to say fudge it about and share it with the class.

I love all my trans brothers and sisters.  Thank you for simply existing.  I'm glad I am not alone.

Preach it sister!  The day you say fudge it I'm me and I'm beautiful is the day you set yourself free to be who you were meant to be.

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

Bene Gesserit Sister regards

You are so right Ducks. :)

I really liked that poem!  "Fear is little death that brings total obliteration".  So, so right!!

Thank you.

Arbitrary gendering of hobbies. Fudge that. Girls can be into hunting and motorcycles, guys can be into crafts that don't involve a saw.

Like sewing (I've been making my own clothes for a while -- kind of necessary if your fashion sense doesn't match anybody else's in the world.)

Also "fudge it" to arbitrary gender-based prohibitions.  Guys: your you-know-what isn't going to fall off if you change a diaper (though I admit diaper-changing does get old real fast....)

YEAH! Change that diaper!

hmmmmm.....you just made me think....I have about 20 minutes until one of my kids wake up and I will probably have to change their diaper regardless of my gender expression.  Yeah.  That does get old really fast.  Time to work on potty training! :)

Gendered jobs. Fudge THAT. I'm studying to be a dietitian (nutrition), which is 90% female-occupied.  I honestly think I'll the the first and only FTM dietitian in America. Who cares? Not this guy!

I also date a woman who works in IT ("male" job) and I do the cooking at home, thank-you-very-much.

Guys make awesome nurses and chefs and tailors and women make awesome doctors and lawyers and landscapers. People need to stop being surprised when someone doesn't "fit" the gender of their job.

I LOOOOVE this attitude!  Do it!  Cook, be a dietitian, heck wear glitter if you want to.  Who cares if you're a guy. ^.^

Can I has some fudge cake too?

I mean ironicaly I hate anything gender spacific outsid of the word identaty.
Flip it

I don't need to act this way or that way because thsts what girls do
Push it

And present myself in a way because thats what this gemder is supposed like
Spin it

And some how not conforming to a supposed corect gender or none at all means I have less right to present myself freely
Bob it

And girl is girl with or without a brown hair
But girl with or without a y chromasome isnt
Screw it.

A person is a person and we all have the same rights to identify ourself with our own perspective
The momnet a person start tryings to force another into there perspective is a form of opresion.

But saying that seems hypercritical, you know hey come round to my perspective because its wrong to ask people to come around to a perspective.

Wait wrong focus, freedom its not about asking to come around to our perspective, its demanding freedom.
The other perspective is an enforcment of mental captivaty through genmder based eexspectations.

But anyway fudge it, it doesn't matter, whats matters is fairness

That was amazing!  Seriously! Amazing.

Judging by what you just said, I've been oppressed my entire life.

Thanks so much for posting this!
