How is everyone?

I've been searching for a little while for a good site that has a useful number of androgynes to chat to. Lately I have been a regular on Laura's forums but found the moderation a bit heavy handed and their memberhsip was a bit low so things moved along rather slow for my tastes.

This looks like a really good site with great people and I am looking forward to being involved.

Hello,

I came to this site to understand a bit more about androgyny - to give it some shape. It's been useful.
How do you see the whole thing?

Hi NickSister.  I came to this site thinking I was transsexual then started to realise that wasn't quite right. The people here have really helped me get my head around not being either male or female.  Looking forward to another person to exchange ideas with  :)

Could be, what site were you thinking of? I am pretty much NickSister on most things.

PicaPica, how do I see the whole thing? I think 'androgyne' really covers a lot of ground. There are some people that have a genderless identity, some that have a 'third gender' identity, some that identify as a mix, and some that shift between male and female. I have this two scale gender theory that I will share sometime in the androgyne forum that tries to explain a lot of these things.

As for myself I'm biologically male yet I don't feel I am a man. I've always just naturally rejected the expected masculine role since I was a little kid because this is something I feel am not. I currently consider myself to be essentially feminine but I don't identify as being woman. I don't want to be a woman, I wouldn't mind the curves but I don't want people to think of me as female. If there was a spectrum of androgynes based on masculinity and femininity I would be a the feminine end.

If there was a spectrum of androgynes based on masculinity and femininity I would be a the feminine end.

I look at it like there's a box for 'male' and a box for 'female' in everybody's head.  Talking stereotypes for a second, women have a full 'female' box, men a full 'male' box, bigenders two full boxes, androgynes both half full and neutrois have two empty boxes.  Back in the real world, people can have any amount of 'gender' distributed in any combination, and which bits of them are in which box can be any combination too.

It's ALL a spectrum :)

I like to think about it in the same way andra, though I would describe it as two seperate scales of masculinity and femininity rather than boxes, essentially the same thing though.

I would describe my identity as something like:

low_____x__________________high  Masculinity

low_______________x________high   Femininity
