I'm headed for E-3000 in Dallas in two weeks and I plan on getting there a day early. Is there anything in Dallas worth the drive to see or do? Remember, I live in rural Nebraska - it doesn't take a lot to get me excited. (!!!)

I'm thinking of driving out to see Southfork. I own every episode of Dallas so I guess you could say I am a fan. (Oh Pamela, you had everything and you threw it all away. Arrrrgh! :) )

I lived in Dallas many years ago, almost everyone heads first to Dealey Plaza where JFK was murdered. Lots of great BBQ restaurants and honky tonks. There is some interesting stuff in Ft Worth as well. I would try to catch a Texas Rangers game while I was there, assuming they were playing. Dallas has probably changed so much since I was there, but I am sure the Central Expressway is one place to avoid if you can.

There used to be a lot of interesting clubs and restaurants near where I lived "Singles City" Park and Greenville, in North Dallas off the Central. Dallas is a city that has "dry" areas and "wet" areas. There used to be a really bizarre gay country and western club in the gay area, I forget what they called that area...oh yeah... Oakcliffe, I think.

Wow, I had some really wild times in Dallas in the seventies, come to think of it.

If open to the idea, I'd catch a show at the "Rose Room" to see the fabulous Miss Maya Douglas and cast mates. Have a lovely trip!

Dora,

What do you like to do?  There's practically nothing you can't do in Dallas.  Let us know and we'll find where you can do it.  Have a great trip!

Me too... yes, the 70's were good to me. :)

I only have 1 day set aside for fun so thanks everyone for the ideas. (The Rose Room sounds like fun, but the shows are at 11pm. Considering I will be having 2 marathon electrolysis sessions the next day I probably should try to get some sleep.)
