No kidding >_< the funny part is that pre-hrt I had higher than normal T levels because of my genetics (men in my family have above average t levels meaning lots of explosive anger and hypertension)... So "lack of T" was an invalid argument within an invalid ignorant argument lol.

Her parents are gonna be coming back to the US to live here... I just hope they get with the program lest they expect never to hear from their daughter again. They even refuse to call me Emily and my wife always refers to me as Emily in her messages. And here's the kicker: my wife told them to read up on all this and educate themselves as well as talking to a therapist (if needed only) to get a better understanding.... What they said (or rather what HE said) broke my heart;

"Why? He's not our kid, you are. It's his parents job to do that, not ours"

So they chose to intentionally remain closed minded and ignorant *sigh*

My in-laws pressured my spouse to leave immediately. She did not but we will still divorce, but largely as friends (at least so far). Her family only speaks to me if I answer the phone. Often they mistake my voice now for hers and I have to correct them. Same with her sister, who also threatened to send me a bunch of "trans regret" books until I took those apart on the phone piece by piece. She no longer speaks to me at all other than calling for my spouse. It's been 2 years since I came out to my spouse as she works through school to return to the job market, yet she has never told either of her brothers or their spouses.

It's all amusing to me at this point anyway. Her family has cut me off. My two sons have cut me off, along with access to their children. The only ones supporting me are my own siblings, personal friends, and my daughter plus her husband. But that's been enough, for now.

That really sucks, Em- I'm sorry. At least you have your wife's support. That's pretty huge.

And Liz, thankfully you have a support system. It's just sad you had to lose so many people in order to live authentically. In your case, it kind of seems like the fat trimmed itself, though.

Btw, what's a trans regret book?

Everyone else seemed to just double and triple check that my partner was okay with this, and ask why she was.

One of the cousins said they don't want to explain it to the children so they're just going to say we're friends...

My uncle in law said "wow that's awesome, good for her" right off the bat!

Not so bad if you ask me.

Not bad at all. Grandma sounds kind of nasty, but she'll be telling that story to the worms soon enough, I imagine.
