Soo, this is rather embarrassing and well, GOT A QUESTION!!! >_< Bras with straps, when women wear them are people SUPPOSED to be able to see the strap's shape through the shirt? As a reference to better give you visualization, you know how sometimes your vain (blood vessel) sticks up out of your skin? Well just think of the skin as your shirt and your vain as the bra strap. Anyway, even before I came out at work I was wearing my bra and so far NO ONE has said a word to me about it.. (Thank you God amen lol) Even so this embarrassed me and, I just need to know if this is normal or if there's some sort of trick women use to hide their bra strap besides wearing a strapless bra if it isn't normal?

What is normal  ;D I would say look around you ,chances are as summer is here there will be more straps (and more) showing. Also there is the shining through thin fabric. Best advice is dress up and take a good look in the mirror.

Depends on what top you are wearing. Most women wear a bra, it is pretty normal to see straps, if you are wearing a top that is sheer, wear a pretty lace bra that people can see. It's fun!!

I pretty much always notice mine unless I have a coat on, but that is probably because as humans we are often rather self critical, not to mention the fact that we already know whether we are wearing a bra or not

Although I've gotten so use to it that sometimes I forget

Sometimes I notice other woman's bra straps, other times I don't or maybe I just don't really think about it to begin with unless they are very obvious

In any case, most folks aren't going to say anything whether they notice a person's bra straps or not

Its nothing to be concerned about. Some show, some don't. Or to put it it a better way. Bra visibility Does not change with xx or xy woman :) just as visible or conseald and as variant between us all :)

Some years ago showing bra straps were THE fashion!

If you are worried about them showing  just wear a larger shirt, that will work for awhile as you grow but there comes a time when. They just stick out nomatter what, then be proud !

Thanks everyone, now just one other question that REALLY has me concerned. Ok so, is it normal for a bra to be visible through the shirt? I mean the part that holds the breasts in the cups, so the cups and basically the whole front. I haven't noticed this with other women and unless I'm looking in my mirror with certain shirts on then I only notice what "looks like" I can see the exact placement and color and well, bra itself through my shirt, otherwise I don't see it through the shirt. If it helps, I am referring to a white bra and the shirt in question with this is a sky blue color though a bit on the darker side of sky blue.

What is normal, a good question indeed. One might say "normal" doesn't exist.

It's not uncommon. Especially with thinner fabrics or with a large weave like in a sweater.

If so then, how come I never see women walking through the streets with them showing through the clothing? I haven't even heard of a story regarding this.

A thin camisole over the bra before you put on your top will hide the bra.  Being shy, modest and retiring  this is what I usually do ;)

My philosophy is "less is more", so I prefer an understated look unless I'm going out for a bit of a crazy night.

So yeah, I like my bras to be cute, but they're for me, not for the world at large, and I'd prefer them to not be too visible.

White bras show through white and lighter colored shirts, flesh tone bras don't and thats why a lot of women buy flesh tone bras because they blend in. I have black bras for dark shirts, Coobie bras are the best, they fit well regardless of breast size and have cookies so your nipples don't make a big statement for dorks to ogle. Coobie's also have thin straps, they fit 32 -38, unfortunately I require a bigger band size otherwise I'd have a drawer full. My spouse wears them and for the money they are fantastic!

Hi Shantel,
just checked the Coobie website and it looks like they have a full size version that fits up to 42D. I like this style actually and have a couple by JMS.

Good, I'm sure you will all find this really interesting because these bras are not like apples to oranges as far as bras go, and I think they really lend themselves well to addressing problems trans women have finding something that really will work well.
